As the field neared turn, Double Diamond Daddy increased his lead to 1 ½ lengths, and behind him, The Great Bonsai moved alongside Brilliant Man to challenge for 2nd. Midway on the turn, The Great Bonsai managed to get in front of Brilliant Man and set his sights on Double Diamond Daddy. By the time they came out of the turn The Great Bonsai had cut DOUBE DIAMOND DADDY’s lead to ½ length.
The son of Bonsai didn’t stop there, sweeping past DOUBE DIAMOND DADDY in the stretch and drawing away impressively to win by four in just his second career start, and bringing his record to 2-2-0-0 $76.800.
