The Boys Come Out for Texas Honors at LS

TTA Sales Futurity – Colts
$150.000 For Colts And Geldings Two Years Old Foaled In TX.

1 Overtime Luz International Quinonez L S 118 —

Time for the boys to have a go and once again Luz International has three of the five entries. The first of them a debut winner on this track was a sub 1.00 pre -race worker so we know the ability is there, but he only beat two other rivals to win that race, so we are in the dark as to how good that form is. He showed plenty of pace on an off track but on the face of it at least looks the third best of the stable runners, but he could easily turn out to be the best.

2 Sunset Cowboy Luz International Elliott S 118 —

Went out fast in the TX Stallion Series Avenger but gave way to his stable mate at the end finishing second of the three starters that day. Prior to that he had won on debut and was working well so maybe with a little more restraint and the receipt of 2Lbs he could turn the tables.

3 Midwestern Luz International Cabrera D 120 —

Stalked Sunset Cowboys early lead in that three runner stakes race and in the end wore him down to record a half-length win. With the 2Lb penalty there won’t be much between them today.

4 Land Of Timber T Boy Racing Landeros C 118 —

Fourth of five on debut that doesn’t mean much, and he has worked well enough since to expect natural improvement. On the face of it he is no worse than on par with the three inside him.

5 Ikea Sweep Blue Ridge Racing Eramia R E 118 —

It doesn’t get any easier as we see another debut winner that took his race at CT. It must be said that open State maidens are generally better than State bred maidens so his form may be a little better, however his works are very similar so it’s just a crap shoot as to which one of these is improving the fastest.

SUMMARY
Another tough race to call but I like the CD win of Midwestern and he may end up as the best of them despite his penalty. He ran like he would appreciate this extra distance and the non-State bred form often holds up in this sort of race as it did in his last stakes win. Ikea Sweep looks to have plenty of upside, and he is another that won out of State, so I like him for second with Land Of Timber in the mix.
