Saturday sod stakes action from Gotham City as a group of five sophomores will head to the Mellon course to tack The Hill Prince (GIII) a mile and an eighth turf test and we drew a small but feisty group for this one.  I landed on Kona as the top choice in this one, but I’m lukewarm on him… Nice win in the Shared Belief at DMR, then came back on three weeks rest to run second in the Harrods Creek at CD.  He’s an off-the-pace type, since moving barns, but those two stakes efforts speak volume to me.  Let’s put Prince Of Africa in the second spot, as that seems to be a key race, and he was only two lengths back in this one.  He was third (DH) in the SAR Derby (GI), both of those after switching to the Big Barn via private sale.  He could end up being the one to beat.  The Green Card went in a different direction…so there’s that.
