It is always nice to pick the first three and always nice when a race pans out exactly as expected like this one. As expected, speed was key here and it was the best tactics that won the day as this four-year-old finished her season in style, the way she began it. Disputing from the gate she did the right thing in letting the expected front runner get her head in front but in never leaving her alone she played the ace card, and that leader weakened as expected. This is a nice filly that lost her way midyear which can sometimes happen through a four-year-old season, but I think she will come back as a decent five-year-old and could well end up a BC contender.
2nd Atomic Woman Williams9 Lezcano J
Had to fight early to get the lead and that is often the undoing of a front runner and sure enough as they hit the stretch she was out finished. To be fair to her she didn’t roll over but kept on well enough to push the winner right to the line and provide a little extra purse money to offset her purchase price back in the summer.
3rd Yeah Noha D J C Racing Stables Hernandez R M
Trailed as expected, stormed home late as expected, just missed as expected. The pace was good enough, but it is very hard to get these late finishes timed right and once again she came up short winning the race only after the line had passed. A very good filly, she is still only three so has a lot in front of her and who knows if there is a change of race engine next year, she could turn out to be a world beater.
4th Complicated Crazy TwinTowersRacing Geroux F
Stalked the lead but weakened late, I feel she is more of a sprinting type, but she still has plenty of time to develop as she is just a three-year-old.
