Emily is Too Brave in SSM Turf Sprint

SSM F/M Turf Sprint
6 1/2 Furlongs Turf Stake Purse $125.000 Filly & Mare 4 Year Olds And Up Foaled In CA.

1st Emily Nakamura Stables Alvarado F T

Back on the turf, she was very brave today getting home by a head. Settling into the stalk the first quarter wasn’t as crazy fast as I had expected so that position was key to her success. As the race wore on, they went quicker and quicker and this mare whose last win came at a mile and sixteenth had not trouble running the second quarter quicker than the first to keep the pressure on the leader. In the end she was tired but held on for a thoroughly deserved win.

2nd Alice Springs TwinTowersRacing Smith M E

If there is one detachment between real life and HRP it is in the ability of horses to run any trip on any surface with so little change in performance. This trainer knows that better than anyone and set this routing dirt tracker up for this race and very nearly pulled it off. In fairness she is a classy mare, and it was that class that saw her through this race as she never gave up and nearly got to the winner on the line.

3rd Sweet T Spb Racing Gutierrez Mario

The first three were covered by a neck with this mare the third home. The three of them were never more than a half-length apart for the whole contest so it is tough to say this one was beaten today. She will have a third place on her record which is another consistent effort.

4th Point Of Honor High Voltage Maldonado E

Got to the front with the outside speed push but could never clear the field and the writing was on the wall after two furlongs. She was brave but went down by just under a length in fourth in what was her fifth poor draw in a row.
