Who Will Take Silverbulletday Stakes and a Step Towards the KYO?

Silverbulletday Stakes [KYO]
FG Race #9 1m 70 Dirt Stake
Purse $150.00 (plus up to $22.50 for LA-breds) For Fillies Three Years Old.

1 Toasting Mb Stables Lezcano J 122 —

Not the best performed three-year-old in the stable, but this filly looked pretty solid last time out and certainly deserves her chance in a race like this. A good maiden winner second up when stretched out over ground she then went in two of the biggest two-year-old filly’s races of the season without cashing a check but running well enough. Stepped back in class she looked happier for the company in the Untappable running on very nicely at the end for a close up fourth. Her running style may hinder her from this gate but if she can keep up early there is no reason why she won’t be there at the end.

2 Zero Out Sccj Stables Velazquez J R 122 —

I like this one a lot and from this perfect draw she must be a big winning chance. Two good wins second and third up marked her as a useful sort before she went to the Demoiselle and ran a very creditable fourth flying home at the end. My one worry for her is her closing style in a big field, the race engine will have to be kind to her but of it is she is a definite winning chance.

3 Stefania TwinTowersRacing Geroux F 122 —

A good maiden win but then she was well beaten in the Demoiselle a long way behind Zero Out and will have to have improved a lot to have any chance of matching that rival today.

4 Out Of Tlove Williams9 Bridgmohan S X 128 —

When a stable has had as much success as this one in the last few months it is tough to criticize an entry, but this one looks to have a mammoth task with a 6Lb penalty for her grade one win. There is no doubt that at level weights she would be favorite for this race but every pound in a race like this is like a chain around the ankles and she would have to be far superior to win. Having said that she has won a grade one and a grade two in her last three starts and has the running style so suited to this engine and well with the stable flying at the moment, who knows what will happen.

5 The Lioness Mb Stables Hernandez R M 122 —

This entry is exactly why I doubt Out Of Tlove can win with an extra six pounds. Right alongside in the BC Juvenile fillies on level weights she has finished second at grade two and run super in some good races putting her maybe a few inches behind the William9 runner but with the huge bonus of less led today. She seems at her best from near the pace which will suit as I expect her to slot into the stalk and if she can match her many good efforts as a two-year-old then she would be a top pick. The only red flag I can see is that her works have been a bit underwhelming this year, so she may be needing the run but with the works engine so detached from the race engine I am not overly worried.

6 Dupixent Night Rider Stables Jaramillo E 122 —

This was a big buy for the stable as he was bought out of Spinetingling’s stable for $100.000 after two very easy wins at the free tracks. Thrown into the deep end just a week after the purchase she ran really well to be beaten just a nose into third in the Letellier Memorial Stakes over a trip that may have been too short. She is a very interesting entry that I will be watching very closely, but there may be a fierce battle for the lead, and she isn’t drawn as favorably as some, so it is far from cut and dried.

7 Happy Dancer Nakamura Stables Gallardo A A 122 —

I really liked the way this one pulled away to win an allowance at PRX last time and her works have been very sharp suggesting she is ready for this step up in grade. The question mark is the class gene but there seems no reason she won’t possess it and I think that she is as good as anything in this race.

8 Valkyria Alydar Stables Espinoza V 122 —

She took a while to find a maiden win but did so at the end of the year with a huge late run at FG. Her works are far better than a one race winner but I am very wary of the works engine at the moment against race performance, so I am not taking the plunge based on her fast home work. Her running style will make it tough to negotiate this big field but there is plenty of speed in this race and things could just set up for a closer, and if it does, she will be running on very strongly at the end.

9 Mamas Fallen Angel Rock Creek Husbands P 124 —

Another one carrying a penalty albeit only two pounds but that coupled with a difficult draw may prevent her from winning. She was looking pretty good when she was bought for $180.000 from Luz International back in August having won her first two races, the second being at stakes level. She was a big disappointment when tried on turf in her first start for the new owner but has been better in her last two back on dirt. A fair enough sort, but I feel she is up against it today.

10 Bonfire Night La Canada Racehorses Curtis B 122 —

Lots to like about this winner of her last three and though her wins have come at lower grade I feel she isn’t out of this despite a tough draw. She looks like she will appreciate this longer trip and has a nice handy running style if she can slot in quick enough.

11 Love Beer High Voltage Centeno D E 122 —

Well if you like Toasting then you Love Beer…forgive me that! Right alongside Toasting when just nosing that one out for third in the Untappable she is yet another on pace type who may come out on top if the wide gate speed push is strong enough to see her clear the field from the gate. A good buy for the owner at only $50.000 she should be considered for a place at least.

12 Radicchio Di Treviso Wood Duck Stables Lopez P 122 —

In the car park we find this interesting runner who has had just the one run for one win. That win came at lowly TUP but her works since suggest she is better than that. The draw of course will be the hardest thing to overcome before she can even consider beating this solid field, but the trainer forked out $125.000 so clearly has a good opinion of her and if there is one that maybe the dark horse in this race it is this one.

SUMMARY

With Out Of Tlove with such a big weight penalty, it looks like The Lioness could take advantage and get the win. I am a bit worried about her lack luster works though so it may pay to look at the likes of Zero Out and Happy Dancer to offer some value.
