This consistent five-year-old mare wore them down today for a game neck win once again showing the advantage the older horses tend to have over four-year-olds at this early stage of the season. This was only her twelfth start so there is probably a bit more to come over the longer turf trips. Gaining her third win, she was never far from the leaders and ridden to perfection by Lopez who has started this season like they ended the last one.

2nd Aye Aye Adderall Alydar Stables Geroux F

The stable had a massive day and very nearly made it four stakes wins on the card as this five-year-old kept going right to the line and only just failed to get the win. Backed down to a rather surprising 1/10 favorite which was even more surprising than the evens money favorite she opened as which was probably due to some improved works and her recent step up in grade after being prolific at lower level. She certainly has a future.

3rd Ginger Lucy The Sidley Stud Hernandez R M

Went back to last and came on well at the end but never looked like reaching the first two. A very consistent mare who has placed 16 times but only won 5 she looks the sort that is always going to be a factor at this level.

4th Outta Style Mb Stables Franco M

Stayed on but was a little one paced in the end as the slower mid race pace did not suit her running style today. I wonder whether this will prompt her trainer to have a go back on the speed next up or even go to the dirt after her 1.10 and 3 work on that surface. Her last start was back in early November so I wonder whether she needed the run and maybe worth looking at next time.
