1 Bad For Your Health Mb Stables Lopez P 121 —

This race tends to have a few entries that look to go to the bigger KYD qualifiers, and I am sure if this one runs well he will be there next out. A debut winner right at the end of the year, you have to be pretty good to win on debut in December, so I will be expecting a prominent run from him today.

2 Rainbow River Delta Farms Zayas E J 121 —

A good second over this trip in stakes company last time and a great draw to go one better today. He had won his two starts prior to that second in the Wait For It Stakes so there is plenty to like about his chances today.

3 Consumed By Fire Big Guns Stables Hernandez R M 123 —

Carrying a two-pound penalty for a stakes win in the Clarendon Stakes he had also won the Simcoe prior to that so isn’t too badly off as a proven commodity at this level. His two failures both came over a mile plus so I think he may be a sprinting type and with plenty of pace and a nice draw, I would give him a great chance even with the extra weight.

4 King Of Speed Pan Farms Ruiz Jo 121 —

Another speedy customer that didn’t fare so well over longer trips if you took his close fourth in the Best Pal as a guide, then he has every chance of running a big race today.

5 Mr Cockypants La Canada Racehorses Husbands M J 121 —

A solid type in overnights, he has yet to shine at this level although did run fairly well in the Bashford Manor and is working like a horse that may be ready for a big run.

6 Burke D J C Racing Stables Elliott S 121 —

A consistent type who may be suited by the likelihood of speed in this race and could be a danger if he gets some favors from the race engine.

7 Soho Jackson Allinthegate Jaramillo E 121 —

Another with plenty of speed over the shorter trips he ran in some good races last year including two grade ones so will not hold any fears about the opposition in this race. I think he may be a winning chance.

8 Zero Aggression Yates Racing Velazquez J R 123 —

Has done very well to win four from six, but with a lower grade stakes win he has to carry a penalty and has a tough draw to do it from. This will be his toughest assignment so far and he could well run a big race.

9 Summer Madness Pan Farms Gaffalione T 121 —

Third in the Sanford last year he hasn’t built from that effort since but shouldn’t be left out. The draw makes it tough for him so maybe not today but he could sneak a place.

10 Food Man Williams9 Rodriguez A R 123 —

The stable is suffering from their own success this year as many of their stakes winning two-year-olds have faced penalties in their first races as three-year-olds. This one won the ELP Juvenile last year but ran possibly his best race when a close fifth in the grade one Breeders Futurity. He will go on speed but may find it too tough at the end.

11 Birthday Thriller Jokerjoes Bridgmohan S X 121 —

Needs to lift on his fourth last time out and will possibly benefit if he is used less in the early stages. A fair sort, this may be a bit hot for him at this stage and from this draw.

12 Freak Flag Flying TwinTowersRacing Franco M 121 —

A consistent sort who has some very nice form for a race like this including a third in the KD Juvenile. I would be giving him a solid chance even from the car park.

SUMMARY

A very tough race to call, I think I have settled on a couple that may not be the popular picks in Soho Jackson and Freak Flag Flying.
