Our odds had this one sniffed out, but our choices were off… Second start after purchase, Martinez takes High Voltage to the winner’s circle, using a closing effort to take down Saturday’s San Marcos Stakes (GIII) at SA. The final running time for the mile and a quarter was 1:57.61 over the firm SA lawn. Even money favorite Cochabama, from the Riggins Racing outfit, secured the second spot after setting the pace throughout most of the race. Green Flag was forwardly placed but just could not muster enough of a late kick, handing Spankys Barn the show money, then a gap of three back to Maxmillion Farm’s Raych taking the minor lute. Eight lengths covered the field of seven.
