  5   AQU   NY Stallion Series – Times Square

Sunday State-bred Sophomore Stakes Sprints… we look at the boys first and the field for the NY Stallions Series – Time Square, a six-and-a-half-furlong dash on the main oval, and a field of nine will be going to the post around 1pm.  It’s a solid field and a bunch of these have won Gotham-bred races… so which way do we go?

I’m headed in the opposite direction and took Misfire as the top pick… only two starts, broke maiden in his second start at HOU, but I think the Big Barn knows what they have in this one.  He’s quick and I love the work on 3/29… add in that you can never ignore Mb, and I think we may get some odds to boot. 

I’ll go to the far outside and put Link Wray in the second spot.  I gave his mom away for a ham sandwich and I like the way the barn has kept her with the same (nice) stallion throughout… He broke maiden over this track at six panels, ran well in the Gun Runner and Leonatus, but they yanked him off of the TC Trail after that tenth-place tiring run in the Rebel (GII).  Obviously, this is softer than that.

There’re a few others that have big chances, like Pinbot, but you can’t pick half the field, so let’s stick to our guns and see how we do.
