  5   The Man o War (GII)

We head up to Gotham City and I have to wonder if wet weather will be the talk again… it’s just be a soggy show in The Big Apple… either way, marathon gents will be headed to the lawn to go a mile and three eights in The Man o War (GII).  The Card and I are eye-to-eye on this one, so bet accordingly… and we both have Cochabamba as the top choice.  The Riggins Racing trained colt has won three of his last four and hasn’t been off of the board in quite some time… he beat some of these in the Pan Am (GII) at GP last out and there’s no change in the impost so… logical pick.  Let’s drop down to the rain for the runner-up in that Pan Am race and put On Fire in the second spot.  He and our third choice, Killer Instinct, come from the Mb Stable, and the Big Barn is always tough.   On Fire also won the Bradley at FG, so he’s no stranger to the winner’s circle.  Killer Instinct is yet to win from three starts in ’25, but he’s been close in his last two, and closed from way back to be third beaten a half-length going a mile… he will cherish the extra half mile, I do believe. 

Grab a cold one and a slice and let’s get down to the rail.
