1 Sneaky Panther Nakamura Stables Carmouche K 123 —

A solid five-year-old that has been around this grade before but had to go to LAD to get her first win in a while last time out. An honest enough sort she will run a race, but I am not sure she has the finish to win today.

2 Fringe Benefits Mo Mentum Farm Saez L 123 —

A six-year-old, she is another solid type that has performed at this level on both dirt and turf. Yet to win on turf, she ran pretty well in the Red Camelia Stakes back in March suggesting she is at least no worse on the grass. A decent draw brings her into the reckoning.

3 Sandrine Onlineracingclub.com Prat F 125 —

With three horses carrying a 2Lb penalty this is more of a handicap race than most HRP handicaps. This is one of those with the extra impost and she has earned that by winning two ungraded stakes this year the last one in the Mount Vernon carrying the same penalty as today. You would think that today’s field is no stronger so she again will be a win chance even with the penalty.

4 Rainy Bronze Party Establo Pichon Franco M 125 —

Recently bought at auction, it has been a while since she has been on the track, but she had a good 2024 including stakes wins and graded stakes placings. The lack of a recent run is the only black mark against her along with the 2Lb penalty but if she is fit enough, she would be good enough.

5 Baby Katherine Santan Stables Luzzi L J 123 —

A lightly raced four-year-old, she has more scope than most in this field and is an interesting entry as more of a sprinting type than her rivals. A deep closer, she will need a strong pace but has the sort of late finish that can get over the top of them should things go her way.

6 Peacestone Hunterman Stable Velazquez J R 123 —

No penalties for this four-year-old and consistent, she has raised a pay check in her last five runs all at graded level you would have to say she would be one of the favorites, If there was one thing putting me off, it is the trip which may be a little short for her, but she is probably the most accomplished in the field and the lack of any penalties in appealing.

7 Control It Bigchief Stables Dettori L 123 —

The six-year-old took a year off after a promising campaign so is pretty lightly raced. A good winner at TAM in an optional allowance she was a bit weak in the finish in the Valentine Stakes last time. This wide draw may allow her to get a lead early and if she does, she should be battling it out down the stretch.

8 Bronxbabesarebest Big Jd Racing Lezcano J 125 —

Second under a penalty in the Mount Vernon, she has a bit to find with Sandrine on that form. She is a solid worker though and up to this grade so not a write off by any means, but this draw may sap her stamina.

SUMMARY

This will be between Sandrine and Peacetone but both have their black marks so it will be a matter of which one matters the most. I will go for Peacetone despite the trip being a bit short with Sandrine possibly finding the penalty is the difference in the run to the line. Nothing is out of this though.
