Well, there would’ve been a steward’s inquiry if this one hadn’t won because she was so far ahead of this field on form that there didn’t seem to be a way she could lose. Her rider took luck out of the equation and just went to the front from the start, and I would imagine if this was real life she was still hard held crossing the line two lengths ahead. The confusing bit about the 2-length margin is that we are told that every horse is ridden out and runs its top speed so with that supposition we can only conclude that this grade three winner is just two lengths better than a maiden runner which really does go to show just how close in ability these horses are from top to bottom.
2nd City Watch 5 A Racing Camacho Sa
A great run for second from the maiden but in reality, she had no chance with the winner. Clear of the other two a maiden win at the very least must soon come for her.
3rd Half Moon D J C Racing Stables Concepcion A
Trailed them and never really made ground on the winner ending up a fairly distant third, whether it was a tactical error or just that she has a way to go to be competitive in this class we won’t know till her next start.
4th Angel Goblin 5 A Racing Sutherland C
I thought this was the better of the two stable runners, but she faded away like a shot pigeon after a good start and may have paid the price for trying to race a far superior filly through the first quarter.
