A mish mash of sprinters here for a race that is promoted to a pick em spot so deserves some coverage. One of the fastest workers in the field is Exuberant who is drawn the ace and has the expert guidance of Mb Stables. Two wins a lowly LAD wouldn’t have done the owners bank balance much good but they have filled this four-year-old with a bit of confidence after a few narrow defeats this year. A great draw to track the speed I am sure this one will be popular despite running at lower level recently. The highly tested Nut meg gets in the 2 box here and will be looking for a much-deserved win as will Lantern Yard who looks to bring back the glory days by reverting to sprinting. The Sidley Studs sprinters have been hot this year so don’t dismiss Bayldonite in gate 4. Peace Pipe is working fast and has all the form next to his name to be among the favorites for this and with hardly any “handicap” in this handicap, looks very well treated at the weights. Brit Style drops back in trip and may well be improved for it if the works are anything to go by, which largely they are not. Only two horses are not carrying 119Lbs in this sorry excuse for a “handicap” and they both have 120lbs which shouldn’t really make much difference so Blueberry Yum Yum must be given a chance after two much improved recent efforts since being switched back to turf. Despite 9 wins over longer trips HRP proved once again that the distance of a race has a very different effect on HRP horses than real life ones as Penal Hockey Party powered home in 56 flat last time and the BC Turf qualifier from last year comes right into this if he can repeat. The outside gates will be relying on a fast pace and a clear run or a slow pace and an easy lead and whilst they both have claims they will need some race engine luck to prevail.

All in all, this is a typical HRP Stakes race where anything can win on any given day, but this does look one that could be taken out by the class horses in the race in Peace Pipe or Penal Hockey Party
