The Spinaway – Grade I [BC]
7 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Filly 2 Year Olds.
There is nothing tougher than a two-year-old race at this time of year to find a winner and the pick em starts off with a wide-open race.
The two here that looks outstanding come from the two stables that recently “sold out” only to come back and pick off where they left out. The first of them is from Fractious Stable and is the unbeaten Lady Lobo who looked really good in taking the Adirondack last time after a previous win in the Debutante. She looks a super sort, but she has a scary running style for HRP at the moment where she likes to come from off the pace so will need a bit of luck to stay unbeaten even though she looks an outstanding chance. The other is from Arindel who saddles Woman On The Moon who won in a slick time at SAR last time and has been working the lights out. There are plenty of chances apart from those two though and you can never write off an Mb two-year-old so Boldly Untold must be a chance. A recent SAR winner she won in a slower time than Woman On The Moon so will need to improve on that effort, but she is building a good record and is clearly above average. Of The others TwinTowers has two good chances with their pair both running well at stakes level last time as did the Williams9 pairing. On the inside we find Ideal Impression that caught the eye last time in the Debutante and Dearest Lady who just missed out by a nose in the My Dear, both will be looking to take advantage of their great draws.
Overall, this is a tight race but for me I will stick with Lady Lobo or Woman On The Moon.
