Once again TwinTowersRacing asks us to remember the terrible events of September 11th in this memorial race which has become part of HRP as much as any race on the calendar. There are a few events in life where you can recall exactly where you were when it happened but there is only one in recent memory where that applies to most of the World’s population. Whilst my memory of the Twin Towers came from another country, I can only imagine how terrible it was for those that lived in New York and America. I remember the whole of Britain being glued to the television, there was no internet back then so no crazy theories, no gossip, just the raw pictures beamed around the world and the disbelief at what was happening.
In talking to TwinTowers I was told of the deep sadness, the helplessness of people who wanted to help, to do something but couldn’t. What followed, the war on terrorism, the death on Bin Laden, could not fill the gaping hole that was left in people’s hearts and minds by the terrible events of that day.
So as a community, as a world, I thank those that remember and mark the day in their own way. My heart goes out to those that lost their lives both in the towers and in trying to help, to the emergency services and the brave souls that stepped up, who were there and didn’t think twice about risking their lives to help others.
TwinTowersRacing, thank you for this opportunity to remember how life can change in an instant, to remember those that died and those that still feel every moment of pain they felt that day.

But there is still a race to be run so let’s take a look at the runners:

1 Never A Doubt D J C Racing Stables Franco M 118 —
2 Poetico Acber Farms Lezcano J 118 —
3 Midland Williams9 Davis D 118 —
4 Cuban Cigar Mo Mentum Farm Smith M E 118 —
5 Megabyte Maletto Rosario J 118 —
6 Diggin Up Justice Maletto Alvarado J 118 —
7 Lucky Tactics Mb Stables Prat F 118 —
8 Naples Ill Mo Mentum Farm Luzzi L J 118 —

An interesting mix of runners here with those that just wanted to be part of the race and those that are hoping to secure the generous donation made by TwinTowersRacing. As good as a stakes race there are some nice ones here and how fitting would it be to see one of them in the KYD next year.
Mo Mentum Farm saddles two and out of the two I would probably go for Cuban Cigar who has the better works and draw and should be forgiven his poor effort on the turf last time. Naples III has a closing style and from the outside may go a long way back so will need a fast pace to make that ground up at the end. Mb Stables Has Lucky Tactics and a fair effort in the Best Pal followed by some strong mile works suggests that he may be a factor here. Maletto also saddles two . Diggin Up Justice is a fair sort that ran pretty well in the Tyro which has been a strong form race whereas Megabyte stretches out for the first time but may struggle against some of these. Williams9 throws in the maiden Midland who looks outclassed but the one I do like is just inside him in the shape of Poetico from Acber Farms. An impressive maiden win saw him take on the Young Memorial Futurity last time but the muddy track caught him out and he can be forgiven for an average effort, good works make him a strong chance. Last but not least is Never A Doubt from DJC Racing Stables, an impressive maiden winner last time that has a great draw that will see a comfortable rails run.
All in all the best bet here looks like a boxed trifecta with Never In Doubt, Poetico and Lucky Tactics.
