1 Soliloquy Sunset Nakamura Stables Bejarano R 122 —

If there was one horse that could conceivably challenge Credit Crime for the title of three-year-old filly of the year it is this one. She has been beaten by the great filly a few times but was brilliant in winning the Alabama last time finally adding a third grade one to her tally which includes the BC Juvenile from last year. Likely although not guaranteed to go on pace this is the first time in her 12-race career that she has been drawn the ace so it will be interesting to see what the race engine does with her. If she holds the rail and the pace isn’t suicidal, I can’t see her getting beat although she has looked more vulnerable this year over this sort of trip.

2 Furia de Fuego Paradise Stable Bridgmohan S X 122 —

Consistent and drawn brilliantly may not be enough for this tough filly who is not long out of maidens. She gets her chance today to create one of the upsets of the year, and I will be screaming for her all the way.

3 Lucille D J C Racing Stables Velazquez J R 122 —

She has gone off the boil recently and it is tough to see any reason she has found her old form since her average effort just three weeks ago. Capable of a bold show but certainly not a standout chance.

4 Heart Of Joy Royalty Stables Gaffalione T 122 —

This filly may be a little underestimated when looking at her age group because she has certainly done nothing wrong and was a game grade one winner last time. Beaten just a length in the grade one Ashland over this trip and ahead of Soliloguy Sunset in the KYO, she may just be the biggest threat to the likely favorite especially over this trip.

5 El Grande Latte Black N Gold Stable Smith M E 122 —

Claimed for just $20.000 back in May, the trainer has done a superb job to get her here today in great form and with a serious chance. This filly has won five from eight and her last two and most recent wins came in black type at State-Bred level. She is a deep closer, so will need the race engine to give her a passage but if the pace is crazy, she could just be the dark filly in the race

6 No Ones Comparing Mb Stables Lopez P 122 —

Consistency personified, she has run a place in all of her graded stakes starts since winning her first two of the year. Only a length back in the DEL Oaks and half-length beaten in the MTH Oaks, she certainly fits into this race well and will be a popular top three hope and winning chance.

7 Stink Eye TwinTowersRacing Franco M 122 —

Proved in the IND oaks she can live with good fillies but with just the one win to her name and well beaten in a DMR optional allowance last time, you would have to say she is an outside here, that however is when the stable runners are at their most dangerous.

8 Tactical Spin Alydar Stables Wilson E J 122 —

Second in the KYO, she would be just about favorite for this race had it been run after that, but she has just looked a bit jaded in her last three despite running third in the WO Oaks and the Alabama last time. I just feel she may have peaked earlier in the year but if she can find that form again, she would win this.

9 Fire Chief Aer Stables Ortiz I Jr 122 —

Barely had the hoof oil from the auction dried has this trainer fired this one straight into a grade one. There is no doubt she is useful as the $455.010 price tag demonstrates and a repeat of her excellent win in the GP Oaks would see her go very close. She gets the visitors draw here and that may make it tough for her to get just behind the speed where she likes to be. I don’t blame the trainer for having a go but for me she may just lack something today.

10 Shes All I Need TwinTowersRacing Lezcano J 122 —

She will probably go a long way back from this draw so she will need a strong pace to give her a chance, but she can finish well and there are scenario’s where she could get them late for a shock win. Lightly raced, she has only run further than a mile once when third in the Selene and whilst I really like her running late into a place may be her best hope.

11 Anoushka On Tap Winning Link Stables Corrales G 122 —

Gets the car park which is really unfortunate after a career best second in the Alabama last time. Clearly a very good filly and improving she will need some luck to get anywhere near the rail from here. If things pan out, she has a good chance but there may be too many ifs for me. Maybe the wide gate speed push like she got in the Summertime Oaks where she made all to win could be her best chance.

SUMMARY

Soliloguy Sunset may well start favorite here but I am not overly confident of her over this trip and she may find something late to run over the top of her. That could be one of many but heart Of Joy will be the best chance to do so although I rather like El Grande latte at longer odds as a lively outsider.
