1st Classic Look Nakamura Stables Bejarano R

Stalked the speed and just had enough to hold a head advantage on the line. A nice effort from this consistent four-year-old who has shown plenty in his last four and is clearly hitting the improvement curve after a while this year showing little or no progress. Time will tell if he can progress further, but he looks good enough to be competitive at this sort of level and maybe a bit higher.

2nd Mamba D J C Racing Stables Lopez P

The odds monkeys had this one at an unrealistic price but he didn’t know he was meant to be the outsider and very nearly lasted home after making the running. This trip just stretches his stamina a bit too far as seven furlongs is probably his trip at the moment.

3rd Speter Sheffler Stables Velazquez J R

The ‘class’ of the race, he was once again given little chance by the race engine as the leaders got way in front, and he had too much to do down the stretch. He finished strongly like he always does but this race engine has not been kind to his slow early pace for a while now.

4th Lotus Glorify Stables Corrales G

The early pace kept him from leading, and he pretty much showed little interest after that. A prolific winner prior to this he seems to be lacking that key class gene and may be back in overnights in the future.
