Bla Bla Bla, Everyone’s Talking About The PID Masters Stakes

The PID Masters Stakes – Grade II
6 1/2 furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Two-Year-Olds. At PID

1st      Bla Bla Bla                 TwinTowersRacing               77.15-1 (HRP) 3-1 (SRF)

Well, I thought she was going to be in a battle for second; I don’t know what the oddsmakers were thinking… or smoking. Bla Bla Bla just placed in a grade two; I mean, throw that grade one seven-furlong disappointment out. That happens. Ya think that’s the end of her career? TwinTowersRacing didn’t think so, and neither did she. Nice little five-horse race; all she has to make up is four lengths; piece of cake. She made it and then some.

2nd    Dream Chaser              La Gloria Stable                    7.85-1 (HRP) 6-1 (SRF)

I thought that six-furlong win coming up to this would have her sharp, but I didn’t think this sharp as she set a nice pace dueling with Sweet Dilemma most of the way, took the lead right up to mid-stretch before being caught by the late closing Bla Bla Bla. I don’t think Dream Chaser tired; I think she just got caught by a deep closer.

3rd      Untidy                 Mb Stables                *3-5 (HRP) *2-5 (SRF)

Well, both the oddsmakers and I thought Untidy would overwhelm this race, but she didn’t feel that way. It seemed from start to finish that she was just uninterested. It’s hard to say that a horse that just ran third in a grade two race, beaten only one length ran poorly, but this is a mare that has made her living romping over these sorts of lasses.

4th      Military Made                       Spb Racing                    12.10-1 (HRP) 3-1 (SRF)

This whole race seemed a little odd, especially since every horse in the race finished within a length of each other, and other than the deep close of the winner and the collapse of Sweet Dilemma, everyone ran an even race. Military Made quite simply put in an even performance and finished within a length of the winner.
