Top 15 Preview – The BC Juv Fillies

We are getting close to the Day of Champions, so let’s delve into the likely starters for the 2025 BC Juv Fillies, taking a look at the top 15.  There are  some real stories to this field, and it will be interesting to see who makes it into the starting gate.  Horses in red have already qualified with a Win And You’re In victory.

BC Juvenile Fillies Points  Top 15

HORSE NAME             PTS        Earnings

 Lady Lobo                         14          $438.000

Undefeated in four starts, breaking maiden at PRX then was part of the Wood Duck Stables My Dispersal.  She won three stakes for the Fractious outfit, taking the Debutante at CD, the Adirondack (GIII) and Spinaway (GI), both at SAR.  Recently she sold for $1,125.000 to Riggins Racing and it will be interesting to see where she runs next, being off since 8/30, but with a win-and-your-in, she can pick her spot.

 Wicked Angelina             11          $313.900

The Sidley Stud homebred in the Queen of WV Breds winning three of five starts including the Astoria at SAR and the DMR Debutante (GI).  She did throw a clunker this past weekend trailing through much of the Frizette (GI) at AQU, where she passed a few in the late stages of that one.  Note that both of her non-wins came from outside post positions.

 Unfinished Symphony    10          $437.000

Now 2-for-3 after winning the Alcibiades (GI) at KEE this past weekend.  The TX bred broke maiden at LS in her start for Luz International and was third in the ELP Debutante before that big Friday win.  She looks to be a real monster and is a win-and-your-in.

 Santorini                            10          $389.400

Another Riggins Racing monster that has four wins in a row after the debut third.  She took the PID Debutante the won the Frizette (GI) this past weekend, closing like an absolute freight train.  Being a $1.000 purchase from the Smokey Stover Jan Dispersal, she is a true HRP lottery win.

 Killer Conquistador         8             $163.230

We finally get to a Mb Stables entrant, this one still looking for her first stakes score.  She broke maiden at WO and won an Alw race at LS, then had a pair of runner-up races in both the Sority Stakes (GIII) and DMR Debutante (GI).  A tiring effort in this weekend’s Alcibiades wasn’t what the barn wanted, but there’s no sharper conditioner, so…

 Ontario Pharmacist        6             $180.000

Williams9 found lightning in a bottle as this one upset the Oak Leaf (GII) at SA, being dispatched at 17/1 odds.  That was her second win after breaking maiden first out at TAM.  She was also a runner up in the Debutante at CD before a pair of off-the-board finishes.  That was a wire-to-wire win at SA, so they may have found a hole-card.

 Boldly Unbold                  6             $161.800

Another from the Mb Stables outfit and another that has not won a stakes race… only a maiden breaker here, but she was second in the Frizette (GI), obviously her best race to date, and the barn has to be happy that she is improving – they are always dangerous.

 Wants It All                       6             $155.280

She won her first two starts for Riggins Racing, breaking maiden at LS then taking an Alw race at WO.  Since then, it’s a second/third/fourth in the Adirondack (GIII), DMR Debutante (GI) and Oak Leaf (GII).  Still, this barn is obviously loaded and has options.

 Crait                                   6             $146.000

Still a maiden, but that second in the Alcibiades (GI) should turn some heads.  She closed from WAY back in that one, and it was the same running style in the DMR Debutante (GI) where she was a respectable fifth.  Could she break maiden on the world’s biggest stage?  They will talk about that for years to come.

 Face Plant                         6             $137.380

She broke maiden at CD in her third trip to the gate and has been close in a number of graded affairs including a fourth in the Adirondack (GIII), a second in the Spinaway (GI) and a fifth this past weekend in the Alcibiades (GI).  She’s one of those always-around types, and TwinTowersRacing should be happy about that.

 Be Royal                            4             $245.700

Two wins from four starts for this Mb Stables trained homebred, and she flew home to take the Pocahontas (GIII) at CD.  She broke maiden at CD and was second in the Sority Stakes at MTH, so she has class and an ability to show speed or come from off the pace.  Always a danger.

 Starlit Venture                 4             $155.200

Only a trio of starts for this one but she’s showing a lot of ability along the way.  She broke maiden in her second start, a MSW at DMR, then was a close up third this weekend in the Alcibiades (GI) at KEE.  A June Auction purchase from Mb, Acber Farms has two BC winners – could this be a third?

 Lose Control                     4             $140.200

She broke maiden at first asking, getting the job done at CD, and has been close in a trio of high-class stakes, tiring to be fifth in the Adirondack after having the lead that afternoon, then two on-the-board finishes, a near miss when second in the Seeking The Ante at SAR, then again tiring to be third after leading in the Frizette (GI) this past weekend.  If Team 7 Illusions can find just a little bit more with this one…

 Dearest Lady                    4             $112.000

Things were looking good for the Rampage Stable filly, breaking maiden at first asking out in SoCal, then a near miss in the My Dear at WO.  She followed that up with a fast closing third in the Spinaway (GI) at SAR only to pitch a poor outing this weekend in the Oak Leaf (GII) at SA, where she was a mundane seventh.  I think she can turn it around.

 Darkest Hour                    4             $104.560

Well, this is going to get interesting… she broke maiden in the Sorrento Stakes at DMR but was seventh in the Pocahontas (GIII) at CD, all be it, she was only beaten a length in that cavalry charge.  That’s all well and good, but she shows on the Private Sales List at $1,245.000 – interesting.
