She seems to be coming to herself in her last two starts but as yet she has failed to really break through at this sort of level. She gets a good chance in a short field running from the ace gate today and should give a good account of herself.
2 Arosha Spb Racing Davis D 121 —
The three-year-olds are starting to get competitive with the older horses now so this filly comes right into a race like this off a great draw. Not really proven over the mile yet, all her wins have come in sprints, but she ran OK on an off track in the NY Stallion Series race so may be a sneaky here. Running in cheap claimers until recently, she has proved she is better than that but today she gets the big test.
3 Youthful Thoughts Greyhound Rosario J 124 —
Claimed from Spinetingling off the free track that tactic has proved fairly popular recently and she comes straight to stakes racing in the hope to emulate a few others following a similar route. The trip will suit, and her works are very good so I guess we will see today whether she is another to take the big step between free and pay racing.
4 Inamorata Sheffler Stables Carmouche K 124 —
This race is light on numbers and quality, so this filly’s recent form certainly stands out. A good allowance winner at DMR last time after a fourth at stakes level she would be in the top two on exposed ability.
5 Lonely D J C Racing Stables – Scratch – 126 —
6 Neon Star Night Mare Racing Alvarado J 124 —
The two proven horses are drawn wide here but with a small field it shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Two close seconds in ungraded stakes recently she is in good form and will take some beating.
SUMMARY
For me, this looks between the two wide draws here with the order possibly being designed by whatever the pace is. Inamorata is likely to be on-speed so as long as there isn’t a fast pace she could come out on top whereas Neon Star is more of a closer so a fast pace may see her arrive late and run them down. Either way, box the exacta.
