Aggravated Jung Takes It Out on Field in Perryville Stretch for the Win

Perryville (Grade 3)- $350.000 Purse
KEE- For Three Year Olds
Seven Furlongs on the Dirt
October 18, 2025

Aggravated Jung came into the Perryville sitting 19th on the leaderboard for the BC Sprint, seemingly out of the big race in a couple of weeks. All hope was not officially lost, and in the Perryville, he would take care of business, grabbing a big win but also enough points to move him up to ninth for the BC Sprint. That may be bad news for the rest of the field if Noblepark does decide to bring him back on two weeks rest, and why wouldn’t he? The colt by Jung has now won four out of five, and presuming we see him at DMR, he may need to be considered one of the top choices there. For Noblepark, this is his first win in the Perryville, and that is also true for jockey P Lopez. Congratulations to them! The winning race time was 1:21.32, which is right in line with other recent such times. Here’s a look at how it happened:

(1/4 Mile- :22.68)- Tube jumps to the front for Spankys Barn, and he will have some company join him after a quarter mile as the Royalty Stables- trained Cherokee Revolution pulls up to his outside. They are four wide right behind him, with Blazin D’s Neon Nightmare having a head in front of the others. City Graveyard is fourth on the outside for Winning Link Stables while Asgar’s Sincere Leader is next on the rail. Within a length of them is Z Cide, for Team 7 Illusions. It’s another length to post time favorite Brooklyn Bash, who is on the outside for First Flight Stable. Eighth is where we find the eventual race winner, as well as being our pick to win, Noblepark’s Aggravated Jung, who is about three and a half lengths from the lead. Mr Cockypants (La Canada Racehorses) is nearby to his outside. At the back and running together are the remaining three: First Steps (Mo Mentum Farm), Legalise (D J C Racing Stables), and Turning Point (TwinTowersRacing).

(½ Mile- :45.83, Top of Stretch, 1.7F To Go)- Cherokee Revolution will pass Tube momentarily in the backstretch, but Tube takes the top spot back prior to entering the stretch. At this point, he is a length ahead of him. Behind these two, the field begins to fan out as jockey look for the best running lines. Neon Nightmare and Sincere Leader, who were closer to the rail, appeared to be positioned the best. There would be enough room between them for Aggravated Jung to come on through, but he had not taken advantage of it as of yet. City Graveyard stayed in the fourth lane while Brooklyn Bash moved considerably wide. Z Cide hoped for room in the middle of the pack, while Mr Cockypants also was on the outside. The three trailers were closing in as well and looked for the best options to set up for them.

(Finish- 1:21.32)- As Tube looks to finish this off, Aggravated Jung begins to make progress as soon as the stretch run begins. With a furlong to go, he’s within a length of second. Brooklyn Bash from way out wide continues to maintain a steady stride and Legalise is coming on well from the very back. Sincere Leader, Neon Nightmare, and Cherokee Revolution have a good shot as well. Mr Cockypants is also hitting his best stride now. But approaching the wire, there would be no one more gallant than Aggravated Jung, taking command and winning officially by a quarter length over Brooklyn Bash, who may just have had this race himself without an extremely wide trip all race. Longshot Legalise grabs third over Mr Cockypants, leaving fifth place Tube without a cut of the purse after all that leading. The rest of the order will read Sincere Leader, Neon Nightmare, Turning Point, Cherokee Revolution, City Graveyard, Z Cide, and First Steps.

About The Winner- Aggravated Jung, trained by Noblepark and ridden to victory by P Lopez, is a three-year-old colt by Jung and is out of Aggravating Crystal. He was bred in Florida by Noblepark as a first quarter two-year-old, and they have been together throughout. Congratulations to the connections! The win is his eighth in 13 starts, his fourth stake win and second graded win. His career earnings are now $824.800.
