Spy Hope Tags Them All Late in Susan Stakes

The FL Sire Stakes – Susan (Fillies Two Years Old Foaled In Florida)
-Gulfstream Park
Hallandale Beach, Florida

Always dangerous when a trainer has a hidden entry in a race because many times the betting public goes one way and the horses run another. Spy Hope from the Asgar barn made the perfect late move today to win the Susan Stakes going away. Even though she sat in fifth, she was a little too far back for my liking, but hey, I’m only the Trackman, not the jockey. When she swung five wide turning for home a blind man could see that she was turning into a runaway locomotive quickly and once the momentum hit it was all over for the rest of the field. Congrats on a nice win to Asgar!

My top pick little Noemi (Maxmillion Farm) did her thing and ran well, fighting off all but the winner in a solid effort. Stablemate Bubble Bath (Maxmillion Farm) also ran real good, coming into the meat of the race at the perfect time, but just couldn’t get by her diminutive partner.

Of the rest:

Texas Fear (Mb Stables) gave it all she had, actually putting her nose in front of Noemi for a few strides before succumbing to the pressure late as she was tackled and re-rallied on from everywhere.

Heavenly Palace (Bigking) ran better than expected by this handicapper. I am still wanting to see a turf run.

Off The Mark (Asgar) was just no match for her stablemate today and backed out through the stretch drive.

Neon Knight (Maletto) was simply not able to reproduce her previous efforts on turf. Expect a complete turnaround when she hits the sod next and put her squarely on your watch list.
