After the last result at this meeting this race was far more predictable with the first two favorites going one two. The pace was pretty fast today, so the speed was always going to fade and this one sat in the perfect position just behind them and asserted through the final furlong getting first run on her market rival. This was a very nice win and considering she is a grade three winner this year not at all surprising, her consistency is once again rewarded.

2nd Mo Ki Mo John Henry Davis D

She was stalking in her last start when winning over a furlong less but turned to being a deeper closer today and she ultimately paid the price as the winner had flown before she passed a horse. She is a hard horse to read, spades of ability, but just doesn’t seem to be at the level she was last year. Having said that she has won 4 this year so her form figures are still very good, and one feels that with a more positive ride she could’ve possibly won this race too.

3rd Sune Lee Riggins Racing Rosario J

Couldn’t muster the early pace to do what she did last time but stayed on pretty well for a close third. I am not sure the trainer has really worked out her best trip or surface yet but when they do this three-year-old has shown enough ability to become a decent servant for the yard.

4th Macka Diamond Nakamura Stables Alvarado J

Kept on pretty well for fourth and wasn’t beaten far. A consistent sort who will keep on being a force in these types of races.
