Present Tense from Mb Stables unleashed a powerful stretch run to win the Distaff in style while pushing her career earnings to over four million dollars as she nailed down her sixteenth lifetime win from forty-three starts. Congrats to the connections of the six-year-old mare. Starting Over from Twin Towers Racing also put in a big run, coming from dead last to nail down second place. The seven-year-old now pushes her earning to just over five million dollars. Nakamura Stables sent out Soliloquy Sunset, a three-year-old filly and she did not disappoint while facing her elders today. She pressed the pace and held on in game fashion for third place while another three-year-old filly from Mb Stables, Creepy Runner Party also sat right off the speed and held gamely for fourth. Nice run from both of these three year olds. Congrats to the top four finishers!
Of the rest:
Wavy Girl from Saratoga Stud made up several lengths after sitting back in ninth place and ran fifth today.
Wasted Away from Mb Stables pressed the lead and actually put her nose in front before tiring to run sixth.
Credit Crime from Aer Stables took a ton of betting action and the three year old simply got too far back and was unable to sustain the needed energy to impact these in the lane today.
Spring Street from the High Voltage shed was out top pick at juicy thirty to one odds but also dropped too far back against this kind of horseflesh and couldn’t make up the needed ground to score today.
Devil In High Heels from The Sidley Stud also tried to come from the back and failed to menace today.
Gutter Black from Mo Mentum Farm was the recipient of bad racing luck and a horrible trip from start to finish. “Black” went very wide into the clubhouse turn and used up a ton of energy before fading when the real running started. Tab this one on your watch list when she gets a good post and half the number of horses to her inside.
Old Mexico, also a Mo Mentum Farm production, got far back early and failed to impact today other than to make up a few lengths when the race was over.
Barossa Valley, the third horse from Mo Mentum Farms showed some gas early, got into a nice position, but then faded after the halfway point.
Hobo Blues from Alydar Stables showed enough zip to get into a decent enough position early on but then backed up through the lane.
Tactical Spin also from Alydar Stables never got closer than seventh early on and stopped to run last.
