They say you gotta spend money to make money… well, Mo Mentum Farm plunked down a healthy $600.000 to put a halter on Wants It All, and boy oh boy did that investment pay instant dividends as the bay filly won the bulk of this huge purse, taking the BC Juv Fillies (GI). Breaking alertly and stalking right behind the lead duo, she moved up when asked going into the far turn, taking over into the lane while drifting slightly, yet she had the determination and will to take the victory by a head while stopping the clock at 1:423 for the mile and a sixteenth. The main DMR track was listed as Fast.
TwinTowersRacing’s longshot, Face Plant, was dispatched at 30/1 odds but followed the leader for most of this race, lagging back early, moving up quickly into the far turn and then battling down the lane to just miss in a very good effort. She certainly gave the winner all she wanted.
Santorini had a rough trip in this race, finding the one thing that keeps San Diego in check with the rest of the world… traffic. The Riggins Racing trained filly was certainly flying down the lane, but just ran out of racetrack on this afternoon, settling for the show money.
It was another neck to Crait in fourth, that one saving ground throughout, moving past foes down the lane as she continued to use an inside trip to her advantage, and she was able to secure the minor purse share.
It was a quarter length to Wicked Angelina in fifth, then a nose to Lady Lobo sixth, the same distance to Be Royal in seventh, another three-quarters of a length to Unfinished Symphony in eighth, Boldly Unbold ninth, Starlit Venture was tenth, Ontario Pharmacist eleventh, Darkest Hour twelfth, Killer Conquistador thirteenth, and Lose Control closed this one out. Six lengths covered the field of fourteen.
