The FL Sire Stakes – My Dear
$300.000 Two Year Old Fillies Foaled in FL
1 1/16 Miles Dirt
Gulfstream Park – November 29, 2025
The twenty previous runnings of this race have all been run at the same distance of 1 1/16 miles but the purse has fluctuated between a high of $500.000 and the current $300.000 so this is historically a lucrative event on the FL bred schedule. The stakes record of 1:42.05 was set by Hollywood Pride in 2021 and Quail Trot last year. The seven fillies who hope to top that and add their name to the list of winners are as follows:
1. Noemi (Maxmillion Farm/D.Z. Gaskin) Finished second to Spy Hope in her stakes debut last out She set the pace and gave way to the winner going seven furlongs so I am not sure the added distance will be much of a help, but you don’t know until they try it. This is only her fourth trip to the gate, and the trainer has a world of strategies still to explore with this one. It will be interesting to see what he does stretching her out especially as she has almost a bookend draw with her stablemate in post six who has a complimentary running style.
2. Spy Hope (Asgar/J. Bravo) Asgar homebred has won three out of four starts and has already proven she can handle going longer. She won a State Bred stakes in her last start and has only that one puzzling clunker in her form. She won her race two starts back at 225-1 and her stakes score at 10-1. Thinking she will be a shorter price and get more respect this time out.
3. Pineapple Puff (Nakamura Stables/A.A. Gallardo) Five races and never out of the money. She has finished second in two open stakes races the last of which was the G3 Mazarine and she missed by less than a length in both of those runner up finishes. Has won from on the lead and almost scored from far back so she has the weapon of versatility in her arsenal.
4. Texas Fear (Mb Stables/T. Gaffalione) Has hit the board once in five starts. She finished fourth in her last start after making the lead in the stretch, but she could not fight off the two horses on the inside in this race. Trainer is giving her another shot.
5. Boldly Unbold (Mb Stables/R.M. Hernandez) More accomplished than her stablemate in post four. She finished second in the G1 Frizette and qualified for the BC and can be excused for not making her presence felt in that one. After three straight G1 starts she seeks a softer spot trying for her first stakes win. Has a closing style and might get some pace help from her speedy stablemate.
6. Bubble Bath (Maxmillion Farm/M.J. Husbands) She was third in the FL Sire Stakes – Susan where the top four reappear here. Unlike the other three she has found time to squeeze in a start in between and comes back off of only nine days rest. That is unusual but she has a top trainer and comes in only two pounds lighter (as of this writing) so she has held her weight well and it seems like she is no worse for the wear. This will be her first start at a route.
7. Gilette (Sheffler Stables/Jam Rodriguez) Has more starts than anyone else in the race. She has tried stakes company three times, and she has not yet made an impact. The positive here is that her two best races have come when she has been equipped with the bs… Bute and blinkers. We will see if the equipment changes bring her into competition with this group.
Spy Hope is my pick. Throw out her one mysteriously bad race and she is undefeated. She bested half the remaining field in her last race and has proven successful already at a route. Pineapple Puff doesn’t seem able to run a bad race and Boldly Unbold has been knocking heads against the elite of the two-year-olds. They will round out my top picks.
