Well, in a game grounded in realism, we got two meets today that were firm in the real world but off in the virtual world and this gelding who has now won his last three certainly took advantage of that. An easy lead from the wide draw was expected as the apparently non-existent wide gate speed push did its non-existent job and this improving sort took full advantage. Since he has been gelded, he has won three from four and two stakes races so he clearly has his mind firmly on the job now but what is really interesting is the opening quarter times in his last four races. On a fast track twice, on a muddy track last time and a good track this time each opening quarter was recorded as nearly the same. That trend certainly says this is a better horse on an off track, but his maiden win was on a fast track, so I don’t think he is a one trick pony. In a game where everyone is looking for the next TC winner, he is a sprinter that could just pick up some decent prizes going forward.

2nd Izzys Brindle The Sidley Stud Maldonado G

Kept on well for second and looked much happier over this shorter trip today. He was taking ground off the winner all the way through the final furlong but never looked like reaching it even off a fast pace for an off track.

3rd Techno Residency The Sidley Stud Ferrer J C

Kept on at the one pace for third and he continues to be a bit of a problem child. There is no doubt there is ability there but in his six starts so far, he has yet to give any clue as to the trip and surface he will fulfill his potential. When he finds his niche, I am sure he will be winning again.

4th Highstrech Williams9 Feliciano R

Came from a long way back but even on an off track and with a fast pace he could not time his run to get in the first three. He only just missed though, and this was a good effort after taking his time to break his maiden.
