Smoochi Runs Them All Down in The Sandpiper Stakes

The Sandpiper Stakes

Two-Year-Old Fillies $125,000

-Tampa Bay Downs Tampa, FL

Smoochi broke last, settled at the back and then unleashed a powerful turn of foot to run them all down for the win in The Sandpiper Stakes for Acber Farms. The filly is now three for four in the win column and looks to be a real nice claim. Good luck to her and her connections in her 2026 campaign! Amy Street from Nobelpark ran very well today but just could not match strides or momentum late. Solid effort for second place. I Keep On Groovin from Rock Creek ran a big effort from the rail in her first start with winners. Should mean business in her next start.

Of The Rest:

Lucky Tiara from The Sidley Stud was in a decent enough position at the half mile pole but could not muster the energy to go with them late and ran fourth today.

Tin Roof Rusted from Martyparty showed solid speed the whole way and then faltered to run fifth. She appeared to not be a fan of the surface today.

Warriors Wrath from Paradise Stables took over the lead late but just could not keep it going to the wire. Better than looked effort for a horse facing winners for the first time while coming off a layoff to boot. Tab for her next start.

Midnight Accord from Angelos Stable found this caliber a little too tough today and ran last.
