Age Defying Dorian Gray Takes Elite Power

Elite Power – GIII
$250.000 – Three Year Olds And Upwards
6 Furlongs – Dirt
Aqueduct – December 6, 2025

Dorian Gray, this year’s BC Sprint champion, played a game of catch me if you can right from the break on a dark muddy day at the Big A and no one in the field had the answer to that challenge on this occasion. The seemingly improving six-year-old (aptly named and getting younger?) was pushed early from the outside by a speedy Unattainable who eventually was forced to give way. The chase was taken up by the late closers who tried valiantly to get to the winner but could not overcome the lead that the gelding had built up for himself.

Winner: Dorian Gray (Mb Stables/J.R. Velasquez) Native Music/Rehabilitation (Cliffs Of Moher) BC Sprint winner broke sharply and was taken right to the lead. He was never headed and made it look easy storming home in the slop to notch his second straight win in a season that saw him hit the winner’s circle three times in ten starts winning an impressive $1,685.000.

Second: My Tomorrows (Maxmillion Farm/S.X. Bridgmohan) Moment In Time/Sit Down Shut Up (Grande Sournoise) Broke well and settled into the second flight. Began a strong run down the stretch and was gaining on the winner but did not have enough real estate to be a serious threat in the muddy going.

Third: Brooklyn Bash (First Flight Stable/B. Curtis) Celebrate/Plenty Of That (Bay Of Plenty) Was content to stalk on the rail early. Ran in tandem with the runner up and attempted to rally along with that one in the stretch. Did not get to the top two but was clearly third best on the day.

Dorian Gray was bred by Big Jd Racing in Florida. This was Mb Stables fourth win in the Elite Power and the first win for jockey J.R. Velasquez.
