Tropical Park Derby Sees a Winning Truth Potion

Tropical Park Derby
1 1/16 Mile Turf Stake Purse $125.000 Open 3 Year Olds.

1st Truth Potion La Canada Racehorses Bravo J
Backed up a good third in the Let It Ride last time with a solid win here and whilst this wasn’t a stellar field it was an even one and he dealt with it like an improving horse. Let’s not forget that two back this one was winning a sprint allowance at LAD and today he is landing a route stakes race which either means trip and class mean nothing or he is indeed maturing a bit later than others in his age group and has at last found his running legs.
Home bred in NY he should be followed as a four-year-old as he looks the type that will be going on from this win.

2nd Travis Mathew Nakamura Stables Maragh Ro
Certainly, looks happier on the turf than he did when highly tried on the main track early in the year, and I also think that this is his type of trip too. Running on soundly he came from a fair way back off a solid pace to be beaten less than a length.

3rd Spirit Day Nakamura Stables Zayas E J
Stalked a fast pace and as we saw in the Commonwealth last time he doesn’t get home in that sort of race. He kept on well enough for third and was the first on pacer home, so it wasn’t a bad effort.

4th Knight School Invicta Group Llc Saez L
The wide gate speed push gave him the lead, but it wasn’t enough to see him get there without a fight. It was that exertion that cost him in the end and he faltered through the final furlong or so to end up fourth although not beaten far.
