Wiggins Dashes Home to Tropical Park Oaks Win

Tropical Park Oaks ($125.000 Purse)
GP- For Fillies Three Years Old
One Mile and One Sixteenth on the Turf
December 13, 2025

Wiggins entered the Tropical Park Oaks on a three-race winning streak, a stretch that earned her this first career stake start. She would go off as the second choice and was among our picks as well. The filly would run the race using her normal front running approach and would stay there, prevailing by a head at the wire. Savoring the victory is her trainer, Royalty Stables, who earned his first win in the Tropical Park Oaks, and that is also true for the jockey, T Gaffalione. Congratulations to them! The winning race time was 1:40.44, which is not one of the quicker such times, but all the was needed. Let’s take a look at it:

(1/4 Mile- :23.46)- United Abominations is the early leader, and the Patterson Stables filly is ahead of our eventual race winner from Royalty Stables, Wiggins, by about three quarters of a length. TwinTowersRacing’s Vavoon runs with them on the rail, and then it’s a length to the fourth place, Spb Racing- trained Bullet Dash. Travers, the D J C Racing Stables filly that was our pick as well as being the post time favorite runs fifth, about three lengths from the front. Snow Pea is another length at the back of the pack for First Flight Stable.

(½ Mile- :47.20)- Once the field reached the beginning of the backstretch trip, Wiggins had moved alongside United Abominations and made the pass for the lead over that one fairly easily. After half a mile, Vavoom was also about to pass the original frontrunner for the second spot. Bullet Dash is content to stalk these three, with Travers a length and a half behind her, and Snow Pea still trailing.

(Top of Stretch, 1.5F To Go)- Wiggins is looking comfortable as she leads the field into the turn and will only extend her lead as they made their way around it. At the top of the stretch, she is all by herself up front and has put away both United Abominations and Vavoom. Those two will now drop to the back of the field, as Bullet Dash inherits the second position. She had not made a push yet but was in the best spot to do so in the stretch. At the back, Travers goes four wide and Snow Pea five wide around the turn.

(Finish- 1:40.44)- Wiggins is out in front with a furlong to go, and there is only one horse that has a shot at this point, and that would be Bullet Dash, but even she had more than a length to make up as they were within half a furlong. Bullet Dash gave it her best shot, but there would be no denying Wiggins, as the filly extends her winning streak to four and becomes a name to remember as she enters her four-year-old season next year. Bullet Dash is a clear second, over a too little, too late running Snow Pea for third. Travers disappoints many in fourth, beating only a gassed United Abominations and Vavoom.

About The Winner- Wiggins, trained by Royalty Stables and ridden to victory by T Gaffalione, is a three-year-old filly by Valvano and is out of Come On Eileen. She was bred in California as a yearling by Royalty Stables, the only trainer for which she has ever known. Congratulations to the connections! The win is her sixth in 10 starts, and first stake win. Her career earnings are now $219.510.
