Pasadena Stakes 1 Mile on Turf for 3 year olds
$100.000 purse
Santa Anita Park, Arcadia, Ca
Reign Supreme from Mb Stables get the rail here and has plenty of gas to not get shuffled back early. “Supreme” didn’t fire in his first under silks when in the slop, but he has run lights out in his subsequent two starts, both on the grass. Play against him at your own peril. Regal Classic from Mo Mentum Farm breaks from a few off the rail Sunday with the early scratch of #3 Simple Man from AER Stables, as such, his speed should be on full display. He appears to handle just about any surface condition and has never been off the board in four lifetime starts. Techno Residency from The Sidley Stud should be the main benefactor of a pace meltdown. He has been a little bit of an in-and-outer in his young career, but he should go back and make one run late. Do not leave him off your exotic tickets. Trojan Horse from Family Racing enjoyed his one and only sod run and he should be ready for the Santa Anita carpet Sunday. If he plays ball here, he will probably track and then try to push bye. Food for thought.
Of the rest:
Unionist from Nakamura Stables offers some hope here and should be a square price for believers. Not the physically best-looking horse that you will ever see, but he should be in perfect position for his acid test Sunday.
Baby Cherokee from Riggins Racing Stable was given no favors by the post draw. He has plenty of gas and looks to be an astute auction purchase but taking on this group while seemingly needing to run and gun is a tall order. The small field helps, just not sure if it will be enough.
Say Solar from Night Rider Stables has put in two decent efforts, especially considering his red tag of $6.250, lunch money for this group. Have to see it on the big track before adding him to the main context.
