Any Limit
6 furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $100.000 Fillies Three-Year-Olds. At GP

Any Limit is a relatively new race at HRP being only eleven years old with only one really notable graduate and that being recent winner Wasted Away, which is still racing, and just this last weekend won the Grade I Beholder Mile. As far as this year’s edition is concerned, it’s a tight field of only seven fillies… really difficult to get a handle on which is which as they’re all so young and yet to really establish any consistent pattern. My best guess is the speedsters like Lady Jane Grey and Chicken Queen will get hauled in by the three inside horses Touch Grass, Acapulco Gray and Assyrian Queen in the final strides with Acapulco Gray having a narrow advantage at the wire. Here’s the field:

Horse                                  Owner                               Odds  SRF

Acapulco Gray                   Maxmillion Farm                *7-2        93

Assyrian Queen                  Alabarda Stable                  4-1        91

Touch Grass                         Mb Stables                                     4-1        87

Amy Street                         Noblepark                          4-1        85

Chicken Queen                   Jkk Racing Stables             9-2        91

Lady Jane Grey                  Big Jd Racing                     9-2        88

Hobbit Party                       Arkansas Elite                    8-1        89

Touch Grass                          Mb Stables               87

Lightly raced Touch Grass won at first asking at ALB in October and then ran second in the $100.000 Arnaz Stakes at DMR. After that, her trainer chose to switch to turf and stretch out with a run in the $100.000 Blue Norther Stakes at SA where she again placed second. Her most recent race, though, was a disappointing eighth in the California restricted $175.000 CA Cup Oaks

Acapulco Gray               Maxmillion Farm                    93

Like most of the lasses in this stakes, Acapulco Gray won at second asking. Impressed with her victory, Maxmillion Farm bought her from Harrell Racing for $75.000. Her new connections immediately stretched her out in the Grade II Golden Rod at CD where she led from gate into stretch only to be caught at the wire fourth by a half-length. She followed that with a couple of allowance races at SA, the most recent a win back at six furlongs earning a race high past SRF 93.

3   Assyrian Queen                   Alabarda Stable                91

Assyrian Queen has concentrated her career on sprints, the only filly in this race to do so and has been pretty good at it, winning at second asking, missing by a nose next and winning with ease the third. In her most recent race, she ran up the track in the Grade III Forward Gal Stakes but earned a 91 SRF in defeat.

4   Lady Jane Grey                          Big Jd Racing                         88

Lady Jane Grey won at MTH in her second start and has yet to return to the winner’s circle. Her first four races were on turf and failed as favourite in her first stakes attempt. She switched to dirt in the seven-furlong $125.000 Gasparilla Stakes at TAM and finished second but then stretched out to a mile 70 in the $125.000 Suncoast Stakes at TAM and the extra distance found her out.

5   Hobbit Party                    Arkansas Elite               89

Hobbit Party won at second asking at TUP and now takes a giant step up to try a stakes race straight out of a maiden win.

6   Amy Street                    Noblepark          85

Amy Street did something doubly unusual. She made her debut in an allowance race at FP and won that first effort. She was promptly auctioned of by her breeder Zoeller for $3.340. Noblepark placed her in an allowance race at FL which she won, then stepped her up to the $75.000 Casey Memorial Stakes at CT where she placed second, followed by a return to six furlongs in the $125.000 Sandpiper Stakes at TAM. Finally, her last two stakes tries stretching out and disappointing, bringing her in with the lowest last SRF.

7   Chicken Queen                Jkk Racing Stables                      91

Chicken Queen debuted at SAR and showed good early speed before tiring. She then registered her maiden victory at PRX before backing that up with an allowance win at AQU. Her first foray into stakes competition went poorly with an eleventh in the $75.000 PARX Future Stars, but then some redemption finishing third in the $135.000 East View at AQU.
