2 OP The Apple Blossom Hcp (GI)

As much as I love KEE, I truly loath this place. Tight turns, no turf… middle of nowhere. Ick. But, it’s a big one as the older fillies and mares will be traveling a mile and a sixteenth in The Apple Blossom Hcp (GI) and it comes with a huge $1,250.00 purse… so, expect the monsters to be in full bloom… ok, sorry… that was uncalled for.
I thought I had this one figured out, but The Card disagrees, so now I’m second guessing myself. I landed on Winning Link Stables’ Boardwalk Authority as the top selection today. She looked solid when third in the Beholder (GI) at SA, and the extra sixteenth should help her. That was a clunker to kick-off the season, but… she’s got class and ability and I’m sticking with her.
I’ll go to the far outside post and give Vanessa a shot to get it done. Her last three races have been very useful, and she looks to be coming together as the distances increase and the competition moves up a notch… or two. Royalty Stables has this one on her toes.
I’ve skipped the Big Barn, which The Card likes, and last years winner is in here, Old Mexico… so, maybe I am a lost ball in high weeds. Let’s see how it plays out.
