Well, we were all over it, couldn’t hit it and it was a chalk fest… so much for that handicapping.  When the dirt clods were re-seated on the lush Lexington lawn, Maxmillion Farm’s Solar Lady was found to be the winner of Friday’s Limestone Turf Sprint (GIII) putting on quite a show with La Canada Racehorses’ Ice Barbie, as those two battled through the lane, a quarter length separating them on the wire.  Solar Lady is a three-year-old chestnut filly, never worse than second in four starts, and picks up her second lifetime win.  She now shows $300.34 in lifetime earnings and looks to have one heck of a career in front of her… heck, she’s knee deep in it. 

Ice Barbie certainly made it interesting, but just could not get past the eventual winner, knocking down the second place purse by three-quarters of a length over Big Jd Racing’s Ava Gardner.  It was another head back to Mb Stables’ Thermal Energy in fourth.  Only two lengths covered the field of six, the final running time for the five and a half panels was 1:02.60, and there were no scratches in this one.
