5 WO Ruling Angel

It’s a big weekend of racing and we head north of the border for a group of ten sophomore ladies set to sprint seven panels in the Ruling Angel. I can see a bunch of ways of lookin’ at this one, but I’m probably going to be a bit chalky in my selections.
I’ve landed on Lily Potter as my top selection… she doesn’t have a lot of stakes experience, but she was second in the Miss Behavior Stakes after setting the pace, and she’s won four of seven, along with a pair of seconds. That consistency and her one stakes race is enough to put her on top in my eye.
I’ll put Diedra in the second spot, that one changing hands two races back and has been close in both of those starts. The head-turner, in my eye, was a gas closing fourth in the GP Oaks (GII)… now that race was at a mile and a sixteenth, so the shorter distance may run some folks off, but I think it’s going to make her a very strong finisher today and with all the speed in here, that could be a deciding factor.
The Card sees it far differently than I do, but that’s why I said from the beginning… this one should be interesting.
