Mb Stables Finishes 1-2 in The Stephens

The Stephens Grade 1 7f on Dirt

Purse $500.00 For Three-Year-Olds

Saratoga Racecourse Saratoga Springs, NY

Need Cash Now from Mb Stables got bet down to favoritism Saturday and did not disappoint the packed house with a solid effort in winning The Stephens Stakes on Belmont Day. The three-year-old gelding now has four wins and four seconds in his young career. Congrats to the winning connections! Blooming Attack, also from Mb Stables showed his versatility Saturday in a spot many people, including this analyst, did not think gave him his best shot. We were all proven wrong as he pushed the pace the whole way and missed beating his stablemate by a length on the wire in a great effort. Liberty Street from DJC Racing Stables proved he belonged with this type of horseflesh by running a strong third place finish. It will be interesting to see where he starts next. Illusionary Artist from Nakamura Stables did well to complete the superfecta.

Of The Rest:

Control The Center, also from Mb Stables pushed the pace past the half mile pole and then tired to run fifth.

Launch Code from TwinTowersRacing broke a step slow and never really recovered, finding it hard to make up any ground over the seven-panel trip.

Bells N Whistles, also from TwinTowersRacing was unable to make up the necessary ground today and ran seventh throughout.

*Petit A Petit from Jerry Garcia Racing was scratched. I have no vet information to pass along at this time.
