Apirana-Silver Hurricane Danexactor in Winn at CD

                                 Winn- Grade III
1 1/16 Miles Dirt Graded Stake Purse $500.00 Three-Year-Olds. At CD

1st      Apirana                             Mb Stables                     *5-2 (HRP) 6-1 (SRF)

Y’all got to get together and get me odds-makin’ lessons ‘cause I can’t figure out why Apirana was the betting public favourite for this race. Don’t get me wrong, this is a very nice gelding, but I had five horses ahead of him on my handicap, including his own stablemate. After finishing 16th in the KYD, his trainer brought Fresu in and he sent the son of Bold Ruler off on a clever stalk from the git-go into the stretch until he made a late run from the middle of a blanket finish that netted a head victory over his stablemate and another Danexactor in a big race.

2nd      Silver Hurricane               Mb Stables                  3-1 (HRP) *8-5 (SRF)

Fourth in the Prk, second in the TAM Derby, winner of the SA Derby; Silver Hurricane at least figured to be the favourite here; I don’t get it. Forget the odds, he ran a great race. Gate opened and he set up behind the pace and pushed into the lead midstretch when he was ready only to be collared by his stablemate at the wire.

3rd      Art Of Boom       Nakamura Stables           15-1 (HRP) 8-1 (SRF}

Art Of Boom was beaten badly in the KYD but then improved his performance dramatically with a two-length loss at sixth in the Prk. He was ranked at eighth in this race but outperformed the expectations and finished third steadily closing throughout the race.

4th     Starbright                    TwinTowersRacing                      33-1 (HRP) 7-2 (SRF)

Speaking of weird odds, Starbright came up to this race with four consecutive big-time races in which he was a deep closer and performed spectacularly closing to a length or less in each race. In spite of those performances, his odds for this race were the longest in the field… and he did it again, this time fourth one-length back from tenth five-lengths back.
