Lucy Heat and The Sidley Stud Stay Hot in The Eatontown Stakes

The Eatontown Stakes – (Grade lll)

Purse $150.00 – For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward

 1 1/16 Miles – Turf

Monmouth Park – June 13, 2026

What a day for The Sidley Stud, coming within one race of a clean sweep of Monmouth Park’s four stakes events today! It makes it even sweeter that his homebred, Lucy Heat, took down the 19th running of The Eatontown Stakes. This three-year-old filly has now won four of five lifetime starts—increasing her speed figures with every start. The daughter of Techfluence Heat definitely delivered a memorable performance, completing the 1 1/16-mile journey in 1:39.81 and establishing a new stakes record along the way. The Sidley Stud and jockey Samuel Marin also both get their first victory in The Eatontown Stakes. Lucy Heat has now increased her career earnings to $166.20 and adds her first graded stakes to an already growing résumé. We could be seeing a rising turf star unfolding in front of our eyes with this filly impressing us with each race. I would love to see Lucy Heat next in a race like the Saratoga Oaks, tackling even tougher company. Congratulations to the connections!

Winner: Lucy Heat – (The Sidley Stud, S. Marin) It’s crazy to think this West Virginia-bred was one of the longest shots on the board breaking from the gate. As Painville went out and set the pace, Lucy Heat rounded the first turn in second while racing three-wide. She was about a length back running down the backside, inching closer with every stride. Jockey Samuel Marin started to ask this filly at the 5/16 pole—quickly coming up alongside the leader. Lucy Heat took the advantage inside the final furlong and just cruised home, setting a new stakes record. She is going to be one to put in your watchlist this summer as she takes on even tougher rivals this summer. Well done to The Sidley Stud!

Second Place: Painville – (Mo Mentum Farm, J. Bravo) This veteran mare continues to hit the board but struggles to find the winner’s circle. Painville was the quickest in the field—putting a length on her rivals passing the finish line for the first time. Her early fractions on the front end were: 23.41, 46.97, and 1:10.51. The daughter of Pain looked to be in a comfortable rhythm down the backstretch. She started to lose some ground around the far turn as the eventual winner was breathing down her neck. Jockey Joe Bravo and Painville continued to fight on so gallantly in the stretch but was unfortunately second best. The one thing you can’t take away from this incredible mare is that she never gives up.

Third Place: Anoushka Titan – (Maxmillion Farm, l. Castillo) There wasn’t too much that went wrong for this five-year-old mare. She broke in good order and found herself four-wide running into the first turn, due to her outside post. Anoushka Titan stalked the pace patiently and bided her time in fifth about two lengths off the pace. Jockey Luis Castillo started to turn up the heat passing the ⅜ pole and put pressure on the horses running in second. At the top of the stretch, the daughter of Anoush Command was really in the same spot and didn’t make up any ground on the leaders. She continued to grind along in the final furlong to finish third. We would’ve seen a better finish from this mare if the pace had been quicker.

Fourth Place: Fierce Competitor – (Mb Stables, Sa. Camacho) We didn’t see this filly on the lead today as connections wanted her a little further back. Fierce Competitor ran in the second flight of horses rounding the first turn about a length off of the pacesetter. She settled in a clear third down the backside, trying to save as much ground as possible. This Ontario-Bred started to launch a bid passing the 5/16, but just never made an impact on the horses in front of her. Fierce Competitor lost ground in the stretch and saved fourth place. If you look at her past performances, all five of her wins have come in wire-to-wire fashion. So, it’s safe to say that she is a one-dimensional filly.
