Happy 4th of July!
Bronze Wolf from TwinTowers Racing gets the call in yet another impossible two-year-old stakes to really get a solid read on. “Wolf” is tied for the top number in the field, but has a much better post than his numbers counterpart. These two-year-olds improve and regress dramatically at this time of year and with limited data to study, it’s as close to throwing darts as one can get. Sacred Star from Serenity Stables is the other runner I was alluding to above, earning a big number in his second lifetime start, but got the parking lot draw here. “Star” showed good early gas in his unveiling, but then didn’t break alertly in his next two, so it’s hard to know what to expect Saturday. The powerful Mb Stables sends out a trio here and My Life For Hire looks like the “now horse” of the three. “Hire” was gelded before his initial start and then won in wire-to-wire fashion. He also is slightly more mature looking at 15.3 hands than many others in this heat. Purchased a few days later for $250 and shows up here. Win-loose-or draw, he should not be taken lightly. The Pilchard Freak from The Sidley Stud showed enough gas last time to have the lead into a 45.1 half mile. He has also broke second in both starts at four and a half furlongs and now stretches out to six. Drawn perfectly, he should take some beating here.
Of The Rest;
Echo Ridge from Alydar Stables has closed in both of his starts and improved slightly to win last time while going a half a furlong further. Now gets even more ground and should be tracking in the second flight. Do not sell short.
Georgie One Hundred, also from The Sidley Stud is trapped on the rail, but has shown good ability breaking fast in all three starts. He also is eyeballing his fourth straight winner’s circle appearance. Even though the presumed level of his competition so far is lower than his foes Saturday, he still will attract plenty of attention at the windows. He certainly can’t be faulted and the diminutive runner clearly has heart. Acid test time for sure.
Bandersnatch from Delta Farms came from off the pace after not breaking quick in his debut to dead-heat for the win, a real positive sign. If he comes out alertly on Saturday, he is training like he wants the extra ground. Can’t rule out.
Cheveley Fog from Barcelona Farms broke like a rocket in his first run and then broke flat footed in his next. Gelded between starts and earned a decent number in Ontario while getting his diploma in a six horse field. More food for thought and should be a square price.
Blood Moon Rising from Nakamura Stables broke well in both starts and had the lead at the half mile pole both times, by himself in his last start. He is improving and could be dangerous, but he will need to go faster to be in front here.
NYPD, also from Mb Stables is improving and appears to want any additional ground that he can get. Should most likely sit and pounce here at a possible price.
My Boy Flynn, also from Mb Stables showed good speed in his first and then regressed slightly in his second start. A guessing game on Saturday.
Mi Dragons Ness from Jireh was gelded before his first start and won from slightly off the pace in a six horse field in Philadelphia. Slow works and a barn that’s hitting at five percent in 2026. Demand value if you believe.
