Well, if ever there was a case of stick the pin in and hope it was this winner. Not from an ability viewpoint, or the great job this relatively new trainer is doing but more from the clues we got as punters leading into this. One pre-race work on a muddy track over three furlongs was all we could see, one win in a 4 runner maiden in a fairly average time was all we could see. The one thing we could see though that was a positive was an intelligent match up between a promising and well bred stallion and a decent mare who has proved she can pass on her genes. In the end though the clues weren’t as obvious as her precocious ability as she strode away a convincing winner of this competitive race.

Though her longevity may be questionable at this early stage, at the moment at least, she is a stand out in the juvenile ranks. Congratulations to the owner.    

2nd       Undeniable Lady         Nakamura Stables     Salles L             1:03.86             

She had shown plenty of speed in her two wins prior to this race but today for whatever reason she was caught flat footed at the start and had to come from mid pack to deliver her challenge. Was it a tap on the gaming buttons or was it the race engine giving her a stumble at the start or just deciding where to put her in the run. We may never know the answer to those questions but what we did see was a solid effort from a consistent filly.

We may see her stick to the dirt but I wonder whether she will have a go on turf, either way she looks the sort to pick up a decent race in the long run.

3rd        Death Certificate        John Henry      Kimura K                          1:03.87             

Given the car park draw she was chosen to be a closer today and she did a very nice job. A daughter of the great sire State Police she will look to go further than this and when she does stretch out I will be spilling my Disney Dollars to get a bet on.

4th        Hyperpolarize               Aer Stables      Walcott R W                   1:04.05

Another that had shown early speed but couldn’t keep up early on she was thereabouts with a  furlong to run but her effort petered out and she could only manage fourth. In only her second start this was a promising effort and at only 15.1hh she has plenty of time to grow and improve on this effort.
