The Iselin Stakes Grade 3
1 1/16 on Dirt

Power Grid from The Sidley Stud got crushed at the windows and those punters were correct as he circled the field in dramatic fashion to win The Iselin Stakes today. Congrats to the winning connections on a super training job with this five year old gelding. Demonic Chant from Mo Mentum Farm was our top pick and looked gone at the top of the stretch, but got run down late in a solid effort on the afternoon. Knight Forgotten, also from The Sidley Stud ran well enough to grab the last spot in the trifecta and continues to look like a useful claim for the barn. Brave Storm from Simmer Down Stable again closed to run fourth in a grade 3 event. That’s two in a row since the purchase.
Of The Rest;
Caste from Arindel sat a good trip in third before tiring and running fifth on the afternoon. Not a bad effort, but I am guessing he will be back on the sod for his next start.
Nimbus Two Thousand from Bigchief Stables circled the oval this afternoon like a horse either outclassed or in need of a layoff.
Quiet Return from John Henry showed some interest today, sitting the tracking trip until they turned into the stretch where he dropped out of contention and ran last. It’s been about a year since his last win and that was a grade 1 event, so it looks like the escalator is now freefalling.
