Until now, Red Bone has made her living running third in stakes races and winning allowance races. Now she enters a new level of competition: she is a stakes winner, and a healthy $200.00 race winner at that. She broke on top and never looked back going in a wire-to-wire battle with Grand Concourse and holding off the late-closing challenge of Solar Lady to win by a neck.

OK, now it’s eight starts and never out of the money for Solar Lady. I was bragging on the fact in my preview that after breaking her maiden she has raced in nothing but stakes races earning an impressive $588.34 in just eight races. Here, she came close to victory with a late close as the favourite that fell a neck short at the wire.

3rd      Itsallinthecards                 Nakamura Stables        36-1 (HRP) 10-1 (SRF)

This is the fourth turf attempt for Itsallinthecards and the fourth time in the money. She came into this race off back-to-back dirt deep closer wins, and used much the same tactics here, breaking far back, moving forward throughout the race until sixth at the top of the stretch where she unleashed her stretch run coming within a half-length of the brass ring.                                                                     

4th      Grand Concourse           TwinTowersRacing        13-1 (HRP) 20-1 (SRF)

Grand Concourse helped provide the pace push that attracted the closers at the end as she stayed within a length of Red Bone the entire race. She may have dropped back from second to fourth coming down the lane, but she actually closed on the leader in the final strides.
