The Untapable Stakes returns to Kentucky Downs on Sunday, August 30, 2026, with a field of 14 two-year-old fillies set for 6 1/2 furlongs on turf and a purse of $750.00. This will be the sixth running of the race, which was captured in its first three editions by Mb Stables with Rapturous, Risky Maneuver and Let Me Explain before Maxmillion Farm won with So Glad Youre Mine in 2024 and Acber Farms took the 2025 renewal with Tranect. Acber Farms returns this year with Driftline and Go Go Supreme, while Mb Stables seeks a fourth Untapable victory with Neon Bay Annie.

1 — What About It

What About It brings the only perfect three-for-three record in the field. She broke her maiden at 4 1/2 furlongs, followed with a 5 1/2-furlong allowance victory at Parx and most recently captured the Tah Dah Stakes at Belterra on July 17. In that latest race she advanced from ninth early to second before taking over and winning by a length, demonstrating that she does not require the lead to succeed. The major unknown is surface: all three starts have come on dirt and this will be her turf debut. Two recent six-furlong works over firm Saratoga turf provide preparation for the switch. Winning chance: strong. Her undefeated record and ability to finish races make her the horse to beat if she transfers her dirt form to turf.

2 — Pot Pon Fire

Pot Pon Fire has four starts with one victory and one third. Her lone turf appearance came in a five-furlong stakes at Gulfstream, where she raced sixth through the early portion and finished third. Since then, she was fourth in a Saratoga allowance and struggled when stretched to today’s 6 1/2-furlong distance in the Adirondack (G3), finishing well back. She does at least bring actual stakes experience on grass, but her latest performance creates a significant question. Winning chance: outsider who needs a substantial rebound from the Adirondack.

3 — Decima Change

Projected Odds: 6/1

Decima Change is one of the more accomplished fillies in the field with two wins and a second from four starts. Importantly, one of those victories came on turf in the five-furlong Royal Palm Juvenile Fillies at Gulfstream, where she rallied from well back to get up at the finish. She subsequently finished second in a Churchill allowance before returning to turf for the River Rush at Ellis Park, where she finished eighth after racing near the rear. That latest result was disappointing, but she has already demonstrated the ability to win a turf stakes. Winning chance: major contender if she reproduces her Gulfstream performance rather than her Ellis effort.

4 — Neon Bay Annie

Projected Odds: 15/1

Neon Bay Annie has raced only twice, both on dirt. She improved sharply from a fourth-place debut at Turf Paradise to a maiden victory at Emerald Downs on June 20, where she moved to the lead and held on by a half-length. She was subsequently purchased by Mb Stables for $85.00 and has since worked twice on firm turf, including a six-furlong preparation at Parx on August 23. Mb Stables has already won this race three times, but Neon Bay Annie still has to demonstrate her ability on grass and against stakes company. Winning chance: intriguing developmental runner, though she faces a substantial class and surface test.

5 — Grayte Lovers

Grayte Lovers required three starts to break her maiden, but the victory came on turf at Saratoga on July 29. Racing on soft ground, she advanced steadily from seventh and got up by a nose at 5 1/2 furlongs. That was her first turf attempt after fifth-place finishes on dirt at Lone Star and Parx. She has since worked over the Kentucky Downs turf and therefore enters with both a grass victory and a local preparation. The concern is the sizable move from maiden company directly into $750.00 stakes. Winning chance: improving outsider with some upside, particularly if her Saratoga victory represents a genuine step forward.

6 — Sentrifical

Sentrifical has never finished worse than second in two appearances. She debuted with a runner-up effort over five furlongs at Woodbine and then moved to turf and six furlongs on July 10, winning a maiden claiming event by a length after moving from third to the lead. She was claimed for $23.50 following that victory and now makes an ambitious leap into stakes company. The positive is that she has already won on grass and has experience at six furlongs, leaving only another half-furlong to negotiate. Winning chance: promising but untested at anything approaching this level.

7 — Divine State

Projected Odds: 7/1

Divine State is an interesting lightly raced filly. After finishing third on good dirt in her debut, she switched to firm turf at Ellis Park and won a 5 1/2-furlong maiden by three lengths, taking command during the race and extending her advantage through the finish. She has since been prepared specifically on turf, including a five-furlong Kentucky Downs work on August 23 and an earlier six-furlong turf work at the same track. That combination of a decisive turf victory and local preparation gives her considerable appeal despite having only two starts. Winning chance: serious contender with room for further improvement.

8 — On The Contrary

Owner/Trainer: Greyhound | Probable Jockey: Alvarado F T

On The Contrary has raced just once and made it count, winning a seven-furlong turf maiden at Woodbine on July 26. She raced second early, moved to the lead and finished 1 3/4 lengths in front. Unlike many of these fillies, she has already demonstrated that she can handle a turf distance longer than today’s 6 1/2 furlongs, eliminating much of the stamina uncertainty surrounding young sprinters stretching out. She now faces winners and stakes company for the first time. Winning chance: dangerous newcomer whose debut immediately established both turf ability and sufficient distance capacity.

9 — Bad Habits

Owner/Trainer: Rock Creek | Probable Jockey: Lopez P
Projected Odds: 15/1

Bad Habits has made two starts and improved markedly when switched from dirt to turf. After finishing fourth in her debut at Fairmount, she won a 5 1/2-furlong Saratoga maiden on soft turf on July 29, racing prominently throughout and prevailing by a nose. She was purchased for $75.00 shortly afterward and now moves directly into stakes competition. Her Saratoga success establishes turf capability, although she must prove she can reproduce that form over firm ground and against a much stronger group. Winning chance: viable longshot with demonstrated early speed and a turf victory.

10 — Driftline

Owner/Trainer: Acber Farms | Probable Jockey: Elliott S
Projected Odds: 8/1

Driftline gives defending owner/trainer Acber Farms a realistic chance to win The Untapable Stakes for a second consecutive year. She has won two of three starts and comes off consecutive victories at 5 1/2 furlongs, including the Young Miss Fillies Stakes at Evangeline on July 31. In both wins she took command early and remained in control through the finish. Like What About It, however, she has yet to race on turf. A six-furlong firm-turf workout at Delaware provides some preparation, but race-day grass remains an unknown. Winning chance: strong if her established dirt speed carries over to turf.

11 — Go Go Supreme

Projected Odds: 12/1

Go Go Supreme has one victory and one third from two dirt starts. She improved from third in her Woodbine debut to a convincing three-length maiden victory at Monmouth on June 28 after moving into contention early and taking command. Acber Farms has subsequently given her considerable turf preparation, including three consecutive six-furlong turf works before this race, two of them at Kentucky Downs. She lacks a turf race on her record but has been specifically prepared for the change. Winning chance: interesting alternative for the defending connections, though she must make the same dirt-to-turf transition as stablemate Driftline.

12 — Cheveley Special

Projected Odds: 8/1

Cheveley Special improved substantially when moved from dirt to turf. Fourth on debut at Finger Lakes, she returned at Saratoga on July 26 and won a 5 1/2-furlong turf maiden by a neck after pressing the pace and moving into the lead. She has since worked twice over turf, including a five-furlong drill at Kentucky Downs on August 23. Although she has only two races behind her, her turf victory came against maiden special weight company at Saratoga rather than a claiming field. Winning chance: legitimate contender with a proven turf win and considerable developmental upside.

13 — Twenty Dollar View

Projected Odds: 12/1

Twenty Dollar View enters undefeated after winning her lone start, a five-furlong turf maiden at Parx on July 1. She raced second early, assumed command and held on by a neck despite going off at long odds. She therefore brings exactly what many of her rivals lack: a perfect record combined with an actual turf victory. The questions are experience and distance, as she has raced only once and must now stretch an additional 1 1/2 furlongs while moving straight into stakes company. Winning chance: intriguing one-for-one filly whose ceiling remains difficult to define.

14 — Indian Fatwa

Projected Odds: 14/1

Indian Fatwa improved sharply between her first and second starts. She finished seventh on debut at Santa Anita before winning a 5 1/2-furlong maiden at Ellis Park on July 2, moving from fourth to the lead and finishing a half-length clear. Both races came on dirt, so Sunday’s turf assignment represents another new test. Her connections have prepared for it with two six-furlong turf works, including a firm-turf drill at Delaware on August 6. Winning chance: improving filly with the tactical speed to be involved, but turf suitability remains unproven in competition.

Possible Pace Structure

There is enough speed here to make the opening stages competitive. Driftline has led throughout her last two victories, while Indian Fatwa, Divine State, Bad Habits, Twenty Dollar View, Cheveley Special, On The Contrary, Sentrifical and Neon Bay Annie have all shown the ability to race on or very near the lead.

That concentration of forward runners could be significant for What About It. In the Tah Dah Stakes she was ninth early before moving rapidly into contention and taking over late, so she has already demonstrated that she does not need to become involved in an early speed contest. Decima Change has likewise won from much farther back, giving her a potential tactical advantage if the pace becomes demanding.

The 6 1/2-furlong distance adds another dimension. On The Contrary has already won at seven furlongs, while most of this field has been competing at five to 5 1/2 furlongs. Consequently, the final furlong may matter as much as the initial battle for position.

What About It receives the narrow selection. She is the only three-time winner in the field and remains unbeaten, with her latest stakes victory especially notable because she successfully rallied from well behind the early leaders. The principal risk is obvious—she has never raced on turf—but her recent Saratoga grass works indicate that the surface switch has been part of her preparation. If she handles the Kentucky Downs turf, her proven ability to finish strongly could become particularly valuable in a race containing numerous fillies accustomed to racing near the pace.
