1st        Retrograde Amnesia Serenity Stables          Rispoli U                        1:22.15

When this filly took her maiden on this track she looked like she would appreciate further and today thanks to a solid pace she got the chance to show off her stamina. Travelling back from the wide gate she got the breaks from the race engine by not falling back too far and stayed close enough to launch her late challenge in good time. This was an impressive performance from a filly that was not really considered in the betting and she will now go forward to the BC as a leading chance for the stable that has been targeting the big races.

Went on speed from the wide gate but was never left alone and just didn’t have the lungs left when she got challenged at the death. With three very good efforts she will go to the BC as a live chance as long as she gets a decent draw to save some of that energy  

3rd        Sassette             Serenity Stables          Corrales G                      1:22.34

She may have cost a  massive $925 only to be beaten by her stable mate that cost $120 but I think she has a stakes winning career but seven furlongs on the dirt may not be her go. A grade one third place is hardly a failure so expect more from this filly.

4th        Doubtville Gal         TwinTowersRacing      Hernandez J J                1:22.40

She got too far back again and though she ran on really well this running style may be her undoing in the short term. I am pretty sure the trainer will be taking note and this was an eye catching effort so expect more fireworks next time.
