Just sometimes a wide gate can pay off and we saw that here as this great mare running over her favorite trip ran the race of her life to pick up the win by a neck for a stable that has been enjoying a terrific run of success recently. This is probably her championship race as the BC tends to test her stamina too far whilst over this mile she is probably the best mare in the game. Travelling off the pace but still in touch which is the key with a closing run she found the line at the right time to get a thoroughly deserved win. She pushed her earnings over the 2K mark for 2026 with this win and must now be considered a true hall of famer.

2nd       Terrifiant Sunset          Mb Stables            Lopez P                            1:32.84               

Well I suspected this one would run a race but it had little to do with a narrow ungraded stakes win on the dirt last time and more to do with the trainer in a big ticket race. There is no doubt the horses from this yard grow an extra leg when the prizes are high and she certainly did that today only just going down in a rousing finish.

There is no doubting this ones superstar status but I did think that at the mile she is vulnerable and though she wasn’t beaten far at all she just couldn’t match the finish of the other two over this mile.  She will be more at home over the BC trip and I expect her to be on point come the end of October.

4th        Miss Hijinks            Maxmillion Farm         Contreras L                    1:32.95               

Out run her form with a huge late run to finish fourth but despite a career best performance in a $1.5K race she went home with zero profit for her brilliant run.
