1 Mile Turf Stake Purse $750.00 Fillies Two Year Olds. At KD

KD Juvenile Fillies looks like a race of estimating which fillies can make the distance. My first choice,  Dj Lady Kamikaze comes into this mile race never having raced farther than 4 1/2 furlongs, but the class and style shown in that race and the 1:35 4/5 work made a believer of me. My second choice is Royal Gamer which has already raced a mile and finished close fourth after being as far back as ninth eight lengths back. Again, her works are attractive. My third choice, longshot Whispering Mind is the royal example of sharp works. This race will be her first start on turf. After having some trouble on the dirt, her trainer decided eleven days ago to work her on turf and got this at a mile: 1:36 1/5 and my third choice no matter her odds and maybe a  few Disney Dollars on her nose.

Steel Whisper won second time out and first time on turf and at a pretty long distance for one so young. The only question I have is the class level as those races were mid-level.

True Devil was just claimed from La Canada Racehorses for $35.00 in a winning effort first time on turf and Rock Creek is going to find out just how good she is.

3   Lizard Lap            Night Rider Stables                85

Lizard Lap tried a couple of dirt sprints when very young and was a disappointment, then went to FE and won a seven-furlong turf maiden and followed that with a closing third in a 1 1/16 mile optional claimer. Question of class level.

4   Royal Gamer                  Serenity Stables               81

After  winning at first asking at FON, Royal Gamer finished a deep closing fourth in a DMR mile that promises a close finish here. She’s working miles well in the morning.

5   Velour                   Mb Stables                  86

Velour is the top stable’s choice for this race so watch her. A lot has been expected of this royally bred lass and that is carrying her speed out. It’s not unusual to see maidens in stakes races at this time of year where talents are just emerging.

6   Whispering Mind                   Threshold               83

Whispering Mind won at first asking in a SUN dirt 4 1/2 furlong maiden and then turned disaster by finishing eighth on the dirt at CD and ninth at FE also on the dirt. Then on August 26th, his trainer tried him for the first time on turf and got and got: 1:36 1/5H and here we are.

7   China Cat                  Jerry Garcia Racing             88

China Cat is a maiden with two starts and two seconds at sprint distances that the Garcia barn obviously thinks can make today’s and if she doesn’t, she might make a good rabbit for Dj Lady Kamikaze.

Dj Lady Kamikaze has only a win at 4 1/2 furlongs at PRX to prove her racing prowess, but what puts her at the top of my handicap is the 1:35 4/5H turf work at DMR.

Precise Lexi won at FE at seven-furlongs as a deep closer so should probably appreciate the extended distance.
