I was worried because Steel Whisper had not proven herself on any class level above mid-allowance. Well, now she has proven it, and at 21-1 she wins KD Juvenile Fillies and is undefeated on turf. She took the lead right out of the gate and took up battle with China Cat immediately and to the wire eventually pulling away from that one in the final; strides.

2nd      China Cat                  Jerry Garcia Racing             8-1 HRP 4-1 SRF

China Cat proved that . for some horses, surface doesn’t matter as she went three for three seconds, two on dirt and one on turf. She fought with Steel Whisper from start to finish only to be out lasted by that one at the end.

3rd      Royal Gamer                  Serenity Stables                       8-1 HRP 3-1 SRF

Royal Gamer didn’t have the big kick that she had last out, but she had enough speed and stamina to fill in for third when True Devil tired.

4th      Velour           Mb Stables                  *2-1 HRP 8-1 SRF

Velour has been beaten favourite two, now three races in a row. She was closing from deep, but late, she may have been only passing tired horses.
