⭐ 1. No Ones Comparing – Mb Stables

Trainer:

Mb Stables is the most prolific barn in the field, known for consistency and conditioning. This filly reflects that reliability with strong graded form.

Preview:

Though there has been signs she seems to be suffering from a flatter four year old season after a huge season as a three year old she has been performing at a pretty high level. She looked pretty sharp when taken back to sprinting last time and the way she finished suggested this trip may be the ultimum setting for the four year old. The draw will allow her to sit just behind the speed and she will be a key contender late.

⭐ 2. Save Ferris – Martyparty

Trainer:

Martyparty’s barn is reliable with older mares, often producing strong mid‑season form.

Her 2026 form is solid, including a strong CD win:

Preview:

A solid consistent mare who is a winner in open company over this trip and could be a good each way prospect. She is a grinder but I do worry that with a strong early pace she could end up buried out the back somewhere. I guess an ideal early pace would be somewhere in the late 22’s and if it is and she can sit close enough she will be trying all the way to the line.

⭐ 3. Monarchy – Mo Mentum Farm

Trainer:

Mo Mentum Farm has handled this filly superbly, guiding her to 7 wins from 9, including the KY Oaks. One of the best training jobs in the field.

Preview:

This three year old filly was a phenomenon earlier in the year winning seven straight races including the KYO, she quite simply looked unbeatable. But at HRP the word unbeatable doesn’t exist and that amazing run came to an end with a puzzling effort in the WO Oaks where she was weak to the finish and ended up fourth. She went to the Kings Plate next in an effort to pull off the nearly impossible at HRP and beat the males, however, once again we discovered that equality hasn’t arrived in HRP land yet and she once again ran as flat as a pancake to finish a non descript 5^th. Today she looks to rekindle the aura that she once had and it is either a canny move by the trainer or an act of desperation that see’s her drop back to the seven furlongs in an attempt at qualifying for the BC Fillies and mares sprint. There is no doubt that if she is the filly she was back in June she could win this, but whether that statement is true remains to be seen.

⭐ 4. Thousand Hours – Mb Stables

Trainer:

Another Mb Stables runner, typically well‑prepared but more inconsistent than her stablemate.

Her sprint form is strong but she hasn’t been finishing off races this season:

Preview:

As a three year old she was a KY contender and the winner of the Raven Run over this trip but like her stable mate she seems to be suffering from a flat four year old season even though her works tell us she isn’t. Her inconsistency may be caused by her running style which is not suited to this on pace race engine so it may be possible that we see the GOAT tinker with the gaming buttons today to see if she can lay up a bit closer to the speed. At her best she is a big contender, on evidence of her season so far she may be looking at top four as a best case scenario.

⭐ 5. Neon Terra – First Flight Stable

Trainer:

First Flight Stable has her peaking at the right time, with a clear upward trajectory.

Preview:

A lightly raced four year old and a winner over this trip she loks to have a far better chance than her form suggests. A stakes winner over this trip she was good enough in the Johnstone Mile last time carrying a penalty to suggest there is some latent talent there. I am guessing she goes in midpack which may be congested looking at the pattern of this race but if things go her way she could be the dark horse in the race.

⭐ 6. Plain Pants Party – Saratoga Stud

Saratoga Stud has her thriving in sprint stakes, with a strong record at 6–7f.

Preview:

A ten race winner and a sharp sprinter there are very few question marks around her although like many others she may find herself contesting the midpack and getting hung out or dragged back as a result. She is certainly battle ready, whether she can beat the top picks here will be decided by the race engine.

⭐ 7. Belong To Me – TwinTowersRacing

Trainer:

TwinTowersRacing has her improving steadily as a 3yo, handling her progression well.

Her G1 Test third was excellent:

Preview:

I like an improving three year old at this time of year and this one ticked a lot of boxes last time when a strong third in the grade one Test. In a handicappers world 5Lbs wouldn’t be enough based on her work times but she has consistently out run them in the past so I am not putting too much weight on those. The biggest problem here could be the race pattern as there are a lot of fillies and mares here that will want to sit back and she is one of them. If the midpack gets congested and she falls too far back she could once again be a fast finishing unlucky loser.

⭐ 8. Santorini – Mb Stables

Recently moved to Mb Stables; still settling into the new barn.

Preview:

Secured this grade one winning two year old from Riggins Racing to add to their already massively strong hand with three year olds of any sex. She is still working like a superstar but hasn’t been running like one but if anything can turn a horses form around it is the sweet smell of Mb’s Hay and it wouldn’t surprise me to see her come back to her best. The running style will be the main thing here as I have said repeatedly in this review, with so little pace and a majority of the field wanting a trail she could find herself in a tough spot. With three runners from the stable here though we would expect, a leader, a stalker and a trailer so if she responds to the gaming buttons she could be a big winning chance.

⭐ 9. Without Remorse – D J C Racing Stables

Trainer:

D J C Racing Stables picked her up via claim and has her improving.

Form:

Recent SAR win was good:

Preview:

I love this stable for their give it a go attitude and whilst on form this one looks a forlorn hope, there is a glimmer of a chance via the race engine. There is very little pace here and a lot of fillies and mares will be queuing up to launch late so with the wide gate speed push and a more on pace style we could see her out run her form and maybe cause an upset.

⭐ 10. Thanks Mucho – Mo Mentum Farm

Veteran mare kept sharp by Mo Mentum Farm, who excels with older horses.

Preview:

Well it is very interesting that the outside pair have the most early natural speed, almost as though the draw monster set them up to set a pace that would suit the more fancied horses that all seem to be later running types. This is certainly the most accomplished of the speed horses and she proved last time she will tactically stalk if needed so she could be the biggest chance to upset the big names however the race engine decides to run it. She would be my roughie pick.

RACE SUMMARY

Well this is an interesting race not only for the fact that it is a BC qualifier but for the fact that is such a tactical quagmire.

The two wide horses have early pace and thanks to the outside speed push may have it early but with Monarchy and No One Comparing on the inside being the only other two with natural early pace it will be a very interesting first quarter.

The wide pair may get over with the other two following, the only question that remains is whether the race engine sets up a speed duel to bring in the late closers. I imagine one of the on speed horses holding on from a wall of late closers turning this in to a race that will have more to do with the first half mile than the last three furlongs.

Good Luck to all, I wouldn’t be betting into this race but of I did I would be looking at odds and Thanks Mucho could be the surprise package. Although of course with the odds monkeys being as they are she will probably go off as a 2/1 favorite!
